It's just an 8-foot cable with a lock on it. It should work if you can connect it to your hitch or another secure location.
There are two 9-keys included with it.
I have the 8-foot version (which I love) and it has come in handy several times.
Because I have multiple Saris locks, I purchased extra keys from Saris.

When I have to stop on the way to or from my destination, I feel much more secure riding my bike. Also, because my previous Saris Bones rack was stolen from my car, I run this cable through the main tube to secure it to my car when I don't have a bike on it.
It's well-made, but locking and unlocking it can be a pain. It's a little stiff, but I suppose that adds to its strength.
Cable for the feet. This item serves as a deterrent to theft. It will slow down the bike thief, but nothing, and I mean nothing, will completely prevent someone from stealing your bike or rack from your car if given enough time. Get real, the product works with your bike lock (lock your bike rear tires together), then loop the Saris Locking 8-Foot Leash around your bike. Your bikes will be equipped with a foot cable. rack and lock it under your vehicle's bumper with the U bracket. It's as easy as that, and it's extremely safe.
Bike lock that is good, sturdy, and attractive. It appeals to my tastes. With eight feet of cable, I can secure three bikes to each other as well as the car (Honda Accord). I could also secure the wheels on all three bikes if it had an extra couple of feet of cable (which isn't a problem if you're only transporting one bike). (Or two. ) The rubber keyhole cover is particularly appealing to me. The key was initially difficult to turn, but with a squirt of WD-40, it was no longer a problem. The 40 in the keyhole smoothed things out a little.
It's simple, sturdy, flexible, and straightforward, and it does exactly what it says on the tin. It's what we use to secure two bikes to our bike carrier (or our home bike stand). This item is extremely effective.
To lock bikes on hitch rack, this is a good lock.
It's fantastic! With a foot or so to spare, it's the perfect length to secure two bikes to my Saris Bones 2 car rack.
