I'm not sure if replacement feet are available. Do not attempt to slide the feet once the ratchet has been engaged. You have the potential to destroy them.
No, I believe it is unlikely. It will stretch to 6' 6 3/8" in length. Only 3/8 of an inch is left for compression. It might work if you're not quite 6' 6" tall.
It's 1"x1"x48" when fully retracted, and I couldn't be happier with it; it's the best cargo bar I've ever used!

Because the notch in the handle wasn't deep enough to fully catch on the pin, the bar latch handle wouldn't lock in place. To get the notch to catch and seat on the pin, I had to drill and file it. A flaw in the design or a flaw in the manufacturing process. The square bar is extremely durable, and the rubber feet appear to grip firmly. After my first "road test" trip with a bike rack in the bed of my pickup, I'll know for sure.
It's the perfect fit for my Ford Ranger, and it's extremely stable and simple to operate. Over bumpy roads, keep the load secure. I used it to secure a load on a 1500-mile drive that included many construction zones and bumpy roads. It was able to carry the load for the duration of the journey. This product has exceeded my expectations.
It is 5 pounds in weight! According to the instructions, you should place the ends flush and then activate the lever, but it works better if you leave about an inch between them and then use the lever. The rubber has an unpleasant chemical odor, but that should fade over time, right? The rubber end design does not appeal to me: It's secured with a bolt through the stem (pictured), which allows the pads to move side to side. When used, it compresses a little on the side. I would have inserted the rubber ends until they were flush with the bar ends if I were designing this, but I chose to leave it as is because I can fully insert them if they break. It appears to be a high-quality item. The only way to know is to wait.
Materials that are tough to work with. It's simple to extend and retract, and the pivot rubber ends make it simple to secure on a flat surface without slipping.
I had this built to go with some bike fork mounts I had bought. So far, the cargo bar has proven to be very useful. I like how it works in every way, and it's a well-made cargo bar. The rubber feet flex when you move back and forth, which is my only concern. I didn't dock any stars because there was no evidence of cargo shifting or anything. Time will tell whether I had reason to be concerned or not, but for the time being, I am very pleased with the cargo bar.
The square rod's sturdiness appealed to me. The adjustment handle is positively engaged and has a locking mechanism.
This cargo bar isn't a shambles. It's the same type as the ones used on semi-truck trailers, only smaller. I've had two of these for over ten years and have never had a problem with them. I have no idea how you can bend this bar because it is so heavy. You may have caused serious damage to your vehicle if you bent it. br>It's very simple to use. For my son's truck, I'm going to get another one. I have two of these, as I previously stated. One for my truck, one for my wife's truck, and one for my son's truck will be arriving soon. I've had both the ratcheting ones and the ones with the ends threaded out to secure them. Both are a waste of time. Yes, for the same name, these are the best, and the price is low here when compared to truck stores.
I wish I had purchased one of these a long time ago. In my truck, I find the device to be very user-friendly. Simply extend it to the bed's sides, pull it back in about a half-inch, and lock it in place with the handle. The only feature I'd like to see included is a weatherproof storage case. It does, however, fit under the back seat of my truck with ease.
