Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this pad with the Porter Cable 7424xp?

Yes, I'm using them right now with the Porter Cable 7424xp, and they're fantastic.

What makes these pads different from those with a hole in the middle?

Good day! The Quantum pads have a hole in the middle that helps to reduce the amount of heat generated by the pads during prolonged polishing.

Is it possible for me to use the pads in Griot's Garage 6? Is there a random orbital polisher with a diameter of one inch?

Yes, any RO polisher will work with it. It would be preferable to get a 6. They are designed to work with a 5 backing plate, but will also work with a 6 backing plate.

If you're on the fence about whether or not to go ahead with it
5/5

It's simple to purchase. This kit was purchased for my two black trucks, one of which is the guinea pig for all things paint-related.
Now. I went to chemical guy's YouTube channel and watched their videos alongside junkman2000. Before diving right in, learn everything you can. I've never done it before, but I think my results are as good as a 14-year-old daily driver can get. As previously stated, the pad selection is excellent for determining exactly what you require. I'm sure I'll order more green, white, and black in the future. I'll put up some photos and leave it up to you to decide. I had no prior experience with polishes or compounds when I started this project. When it comes to the method, I recommend that you follow the flow chart that the chemical guys have created.

If you plan to use these pads with tools as powerful as the Rupes at high rpms, I wouldn't recommend them
3/5

First and foremost, I'd like to state that I am a huge fan of the Chemical Guys. About two years ago, I tried their V line of polishes and was so impressed that I switched to their entire product line: I never looked back, from soap to quick detailer, rim and wheel cleaner, pads, glaze, sealant, wax, and so on. . . br>br>I polish with two random orbital polishers: The Rupes 21 Mark II and a Griot Garage 6'' Chemical Guys hex logic pads were purchased in two sets, one for each random orbital. br>br>Unfortunately, I must report that, for the first time, I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with a Chemical Guys product:br>br>On the one hand, I have been using one set of pads with the Griot Garage for two years, and the pads are still in good working order, despite some normal wear and tear. br>br>On the other hand, the set of pads I use with the Rupes (for which I am writing this review) isn't quite right: br>br>The scratch on the black pad unglued after the first use, and the white pad began to disintegrate after the second use. After about 30 minutes of use at high rpms (above setting 4 on the Rupes), the center of the pads appears to warm up and begin to wobble on the orbital's plate, making polishing difficult; this wobbling may be what caused the black pad's scratch to become unglued and the white pad to begin disintegrating. br>br>In comparison to the Griot Garage, the Rupes is a more powerful tool. As a result, it appears that the hex logic pads are unable to withstand the Rupes' power, despite the fact that they are compatible with the Griot Garage. This is a letdown. br>br> Overall, I wouldn't recommend buying these pads if you plan to use them with a powerful tool like the Rupes 21 Mark II at high rpms. It's too much for them.

AN ACTUALLY HONEST REVIEW! I adore these pads, and the cleaner is incredible
5/5

The cleaner in particular is a MUST HAVE PRODUCT. br>br>First, let's look at the pads. br>PROS: br>1) Longevity - I'm still using the first pads I bought (nearly a year ago) and have used them on a number of large projects. br>2) functionality - They do EXACTLY what they say they will do, with no shortcuts or failuresbr>3) user-friendliness - The hook and look make life so much easier and cuts down on the amount of time it takes to complete your project or job. Exceptionally tolerant! br>4) It's very simple to clean - It's amazing how the product and paint color you get on them just falls off the pads when you use the cleaner and hot water. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>1) Be careful with all foam pads when you're near stick-on logo badges; they'll grab a small piece of the pad and take it with them. br>2) After a while, the pad will gunk up in the dead center. If you plan on doing a full vehicle in a single day, I'd recommend getting at least three of your regular pads. When the pad gunk builds up, cutting power is lost. I use the yellow, orange, and black pads the most, and because the black pads only polish and do not cut, having a lot of them isn't a big deal, but your yellow and orange pads do cut, so I have a lot of them. br>br>Chemical has released Hex Logic Quantum pads that are similar to the originals but have a hole in the middle. They do not clog up at all; the problem was the heat generated by the center after prolonged use, but these work just as well. All you have to do now is keep an eye on your equipment, just like the rest of your life. br>br>This is an excellent cleaner that only requires two sprays per pad, lasts a long time, and smells fantastic, as do all Chemical Guys products. There haven't been any drawbacks that I've discovered. br>br>I am not affiliated with chemical guys, and I am not compensated for my reviews. I'm just a regular guy who gives REAL HONEST REVIEWS!.

Excellent product! I didn't know what to expect from this product as a beginner, but after using it, I couldn't be happier
5/5

Because this appears to be the most common setup, I used these with Chemical Guys' V series polishes and the Porter Cable 7424XP. br>br>On a full-size Ram, I polished three-year-old paint. I used the yellow pad and Chemical Guys V32 polish to work out some scratches, then used the orange (with V34) and white (with V36) pads to complete the polishing. The truck became increasingly gleaming with each step, and it now appears to be fantastic. When I drove off the dealership lot, the paint wasn't even this nice. I didn't go overboard and try to remove all of the factory orange peel (yet), but I was very pleased with the results after just following these steps. Because the finishing products were applied differently, I haven't used the blue, black, or red pads yet, but I may do a full polish with the blue and the V38 soon to see the difference. br>br>I also now believe that the policing process is extremely safe when using the DA polisher and these pads. You will not burn your paint if you are concerned about this. Regardless of the pad, compound, or polisher speed I used, there were no signs of paint damage. I'm not sure what you'd have to do to screw up this process, but it'd be difficult. br>br>Those who have burned up these pads believe the technique was incorrect. I will say that buffing around the ends of badges and trim may require some caution, but after buffing a full-body polish, you should be fine. The pads still look great on a full-size truck. Every 1/4-mile or so, I had to pause, clean, and dry the pads. If you're doing a car, you'll probably need to repeat the process at least once, or have a second pad on hand. br>br>After polishing the entire vehicle, I took pictures of the pads I used.
