Questions & Answers

Is it safe to use this on a product that will come into contact with food?

Yes. It is necessary to mix the resin in the following order: 1: 1: 1: 1: 1 To ensure complete blending, measure 1 by volume (not weight) in a smooth-sided cup. Before using the castings for food, give them a full 7 days to cure. Only cold or warm food should be touched by the pieces. Cured pieces should not be washed in the dishwasher, microwaved, or baked in a regular oven.

It's been three days, and it's still looking a little cheesy. I made use of a one-to-one correspondence. In a thin layer, there's a 1:1 ratio. What options do I have?

It all depends on how much money you wanted to make. I discovered that the amount I use has an inverse relationship with the success rate of curing. The greater the margin for error, the lower the amount. Because the density of the two parts differs, it's nearly impossible for me to get a precise 1: I even use medical-grade, sterilized medicine cups because anything less than 20mL does not cure me. So, in order to avoid wasting time, I work on multiple projects at once. Also, mix for at least 3 minutes at a slow pace.

Will the alcohol react if I use this to coat a shot glass?

Yes. Using hot glue, I attempted to make a resin mold. The only way to get the resin out of the mold was to use alcohol, but this warped the resin. That is how I am aware of the situation.

Is it true that the liquid has turned yellow? I bought a box, but I haven't used it in a few months, so it's yellowed. ?

YES. I opened mine about three months ago and sealed the rest of the resin in a closet. The resin had turned a very yellow color by the time I opened it again. In addition, everything I pour with that resin now has a yellowish tint to it. It has a sort of ish tone to it. Because the actual resin items I've made have yellowed over time, I'm not going to use this brand anymore.

Approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)- Still a very dangerous situation! Please read before making a purchase! Although this product is FDA approved and can be used on tumblers, I want to emphasize that uncured epoxy is not safe for anyone
3/5

I had a tumbler business for a long time and made well over 100 cups in a small room in my house with this epoxy and never had a reaction; however, it gradually developed until my body could no longer take it. My lungs became severely inflamed, and I was prescribed an inhaler to help me breathe. I can no longer be in the same room with uncured epoxy without breaking out in a rash and hives. I believe that if you use proper ventilation, a respirator, and gloves from the start, epoxy can be used safely; however, once you develop a reaction, each one is more severe than the last; I was almost hospitalized by using this without fully understanding the risks of what I was doing in my home with a toddler. Thankfully, my daughter did not have an allergic reaction, but please be aware that making epoxies without the proper equipment can be dangerous, even if you make more than 100 cups.

Epoxy is my personal favorite
5/5

Additionally, it complies with FDA regulations. This is the epoxy I use for all of my crafts. Tumblers, jewelry, and keychains are some of the items that I create. Always mix equal parts of resin! This, in turn, will self-level. If you're going to put this in a mold, make sure it's level. You can use a heat gun to get rid of bubbles. Alternatively, slash it with a lighter. Heat will cause it to pop. When working with any chemicals, make sure to use gloves. It's a sticky situation! It'll be completely clear when it's dry! You can also color your epoxy with a drop of acrylic paint and glitter. br>I've attached some of the work I've done with Alumilite epoxy just for your entertainment and enjoyment.

PERFECT FOR CASTING RESIN THAT HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE FDA
5/5

I'd never used this product before, but I needed an FDA-approved food resin for a project, and it's incredible. It is a one-star rating. Alumilite is the ONLY FDA food approved clear resin available at a reasonable price that cures clear but can be dyed with translucent color or with an opaque white base, as far as I could tell from my many hours of research for such a product. It cures clear but can be dyed with translucent color or with an opaque white base, as far as I could tell from my many hours of research for such a product. After that, add a new color to the mix. The best price on this product can be found on Amazon, which also allows you to order directly from the manufacturer. I wish Amazon sold the 2 gallon size; the product has a one-year shelf life, so ordering larger quantities would not be an issue. Alumilite's only FDA-approved resin is Alumilite Amazing Clear Casting Resin; the company's other clear, water, and white resins do not meet the FDA's requirements.

It takes a little getting used to, but it works perfectly! It's ideal for a wide range of crafters
5/5

I bought this after seeing several people use it as a top coat after painting and/or applying sign vinyl to yeti mugs and other drinkware. Although sign vinyl isn't "necessarily to seal," I wanted to seal my crafts so that I could sell them with the confidence that they wouldn't peel. They're also top coated with an FDA approved sealer for painted items. This is a fantastic product that will take some practice to master, but until I do, I'll just use a foam brush to apply the thinnest layers possible, then leave to dry completely (about 36-48 hours). They look gorgeous and glossy after 48 hours! To demonstrate results, I'll post a few of the items I've coated thus far.

I'll use Alumilite for smaller projects because it works well but I don't like how it yellows over time

The product is excellent in its functionality
4/5

Please. Cups for measuring were shattered. The product is excellent in its functionality. Please take precise measurements when using this product, as many people have complained that it does not set properly. This should be approached as if you were baking a cake from a recipe. You can't guess or examine it closely enough to think about it. Put them side by side on the counter and check the liquid levels.
