Unlike most of them, this one only displays temperature in Fahrenheit. It is possible to read temperatures in Celsius in our units. Tell us, by message or note in your order, that you want a C unit instead of the F unit and we will send you a C instead.
It is true. There is a temperature range of 2372F for this meter. TK can also access 2372, but not continuously (not 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). It is okay to fire someone if it is less than that. Additionally, you may be able to use an 8ga heavy duty type K thermotube at higher temperatures. This is a trade-off between long-term performance and quick response time, where an 8ga TR will last longer at higher temperatures, but it will take longer for it to measure temperature changes. Among the ones we include is a smaller wire with a very fast display of temperature change. TK can be kept in the kiln for a longer period of time if you don't leave it in the kiln all the time. Despite the small differences, the discussion is still relevant. It is inevitable that a Tk will wear out, but they can easily be
But it's also relatively foolproof - red is a negative color. The wires of the meter are reversed if the numbers in it go DOWN when the temperature goes up,

Pyrometer for monitoring a glass kiln closer purchased for monitoring glass work and it has been a great purchase. I like the accuracy of the pyrometer and the length of the thermocouple. The item was shipped and arrived in good condition in a timely manner. I really like it. Although I was considering a built-in digital pyrometer for my kiln, I got this instead as a temporary measure. I do not expect to get the built-in in the end. This is the only equipment I use for glass firing, and there is no need to store it or take it in and out frequently This product is excellent. I am very happy with it.
K2 has provided me with a digital pyrometer twice now. Until I had a mishap that damaged it, I used my first for 5 years without any issues. During an occasional firing of porcelain for my wife, the K2 pyrometer has proven to be one of the most reliable products I have tried. It is easy to read the large numbers. You can use it every time and it is simple to use.
It was unclear what temperature to fire at and whether a heavier cable would be necessary. As soon as the company heard back to us that same night, they said the cables we have would be great for the firing we are currently With the digital readout, we have a much easier time interpreting the temperatures than we did with the old thermometer.
It is a pleasure to work with I also liked the product a lot!.
The thermocouple reader works well as well. After about 10 years of use and living outside, mine finally succumbed. Good product. The thermocouple is no slouch either. Ensure that your battery is fully charged otherwise you will see weird readings.
It is easy to operate, light weight, and sturdy. The unit has worked well for me and I have used it just randomly to check the temperature in two of my other kilns. Thank you for the quality of your product.
As part of the process of making custom knives, the pyrometer is crucial to maintaining the proper temperature inside one's forge when heat treating steel or preparing steel. Part of the reason I picked the K2 over lesser models was because the ratings were high, and because the manufacturer provided technical information. There is no doubt that it is accurate.
This is awesome! I can't believe I ever fired a kiln without it!.
