Questions & Answers

Was the Compressor not working for some reason?

My copy arrived just now. I was able to build it and use it after finally figuring it out. We tried several times to activate the air, but it just stopped working after a few short bursts. Once the plug was connected to another outlet, it worked perfectly. When the switch is turned to the ON position, the light comes on, but nothing happens!

Is it possible to use this for cake decorating and also painting?

I'm so sorry! A cake that has been decorated with an airbrush that was once used to spray poisonous cadmium paint would not be worthy of my stomach, no matter how clean it is. As a result of reading the horror stories about cadmium, I purchase substitutes for this heavy metal. Keeping your tools separate is a good idea.

220 volts are required for it to work?

Not at all. It plugs into a

The compressor is very heavy, how much does it weigh?

With cord and hose, the weight is 6lbs

Selected User Reviews For PointZero Airbrush Dual Action Airbrush Kit with 3 Airbrushes

The kit is great for beginners
5/5

It comes with instructions and is well worth the price. If you take care of the kit properly, it will last you forever. My airbrushes all work well and are above average quality for the price I pay. I've used this one a lot since I got it, and the compressor is quite quiet and keeps a steady stream of air going. There are lots of negative reviews regarding clogging and spitting paint, etc. I hope that by answering this question, I can help others who also experience issues. The following warning The length of the review is for the benefit of You should clean your airbrushes, keep the water trap dry, and make sure the compressor is There is a tendency for gravity brushes to clog, but not because they are poorly manufactured. We use small details gravity brushes to create fine detail in our drawings. The tip is 2mm. Regardless of the brand, your clog will be cleared if you tip it. This is the It is better if 3mm is used, but it can There have been reports of Badgers and Iwatas doing this as well. In the first place, if you are not using paint intended for airbrushing (like Vallejo Model Air line) then you will need to add a considerable amount of thinner (distilled water works great with acrylics, not so much with enamel, as I only use enamel with In the case of regular paints, I use a ratio of 3/1 to 10/1 of water to paint. For those who are still experiencing clogging, make sure to disassemble and clean the airbrushes after every use (not when switching paint only run distilled water through the unit until it is clear and then 1 paint cup of paint brush cleaner or isopropyl alcohol is fine). -Get some airbrush lube (I used airsoft gun spray or drops, but any lube that is designed to not eat rubber or plastic will work too. The needles) I normally just lubricate with a little oil before inserting them back into the casing, spring, and valve cases. Afterward, I spray air through the needle tip so that the needle does not have too much lube on it. The first step in cleaning a clogged air filter is to turn off the air compressor, loosen the needle adjustment valve at the back, remove the first tip, then get a Q-tip. Wet the tip of the tip and clean off the needle and guide tip with distilled water. Take the guide tip off and move the trigger back and forth a few times, then clean off the needle with distilled water. Despite the fact that any airbrush can clog, there is a way to get them working again rapidly after they have clogged. This may seem like a lot, but it would be necessary for more expensive airbrushes to follow the same procedures. Don't let the fact that they're cheap dissuade you from keeping them in good condition. In addition, I recommend buying an ultrasonic cleaner if you're going to continue using an airbrush. However, it's not necessary since it's just easier to clean the nooks and crannies. You should now be able to eliminate all clogging issues. If you are experiencing sputtering or compressor difficulties, *Sputtering (which is different from pulsing) is when your paint does not come out evenly across the tip, causing it to splatter everywhere! It can destroy the art that you've worked so hard on. Moisture in the air line is the reason for this problem. You want to make sure the air leaving the compressor is as dry as possible, which is usually accomplished by putting a moisture trap below the regulator. If it gets overloaded though, you will still get moisture issues. Typically unscrewing it, drying it with a paper towel, then reinstalling it should fix most issues. Apply some air alongside the line to remove any moisture after that, and You should also get yourself a cheap in-flight entertainment system The line moisture trap will also be able to trap moisture if you are not living in an extremely dry climate (basically anywhere that is not the There are some people who have difficulty with their A majority of users complain about it overheating and ceasing to work. It is out of my control whether this happens or not, but I put it in front of one of those small table fans to prevent it. There is a $5 charge at Wal-Mart This will keep the compressor cooler because more air is flowing through it. There is no heat at all, even when the PSI is increased to a high level. I understand that this kit is relatively inexpensive for what you get, though you should still take good Furthermore, it makes good sense to have a plan in place for upgrading to a better kit.

The Feds ($$) will not let you down
5/5

While I was a child, I always wished I had an airbrush to paint my models. Having money problems was the issue. After 40 years of not modeling, I finally purchased this set up now that I have money to spend on it. They are great, but I have yet to get the hang of them. This compressor is very quiet, so it won't wake up your spouse in the middle of the night. I am using the air brushes and compressor about four times per week almost a year after I bought them. I love this set so much, I use it almost exclusively.

This set of brushes and compressor has never let me down. In talking to a fellow at the hobby shop, I mentioned to him that I was able to get a $50 discount on gravity fee brushes. A $300 vs. a $100. The air brush is a 00. We came to the conclusion that the $50 was a good deal. If the $300 is working fine, doing what it should, then what is the point of spending it. I'd like to use a different brush for 00*".

The price and kit included in this package made me rediscover my favorite old hobby again
5/5

you want to dive into airbrushing without much expense and with good results, this is the package for you. The set came to me out of the blue one night. In my youth, I was fascinated by plastic models, especially those based on Having always painted everything by hand, when I saw this for a little over $100, I realized that 30+ years later I could afford to teach myself how to do this. My first impression was "wow, these are great results", and now I am addicted to modeling again. * I have never used a premium brand airbrush, so I cannot compare these with them. In truth, I don't remember what I did after a few YouTube video viewings, but I did pick up my first kit in decades, and I started running. Wow! What a great time! Preparing the dishes with these brushes was a breeze These are some techniques I found some of the masters using for shading, post-shading, and masking. Now that I have an idea for a fourth kit, I have made three kits. I have a favorite firearm the . The . is my mainstay. It has a nice, large gravity-related surface area of 3mm This year, the fed cup was held. keeps the paint from drying if you are painting for a long period of time. There's even no need to worry about metallic paints since the method works just fine The 0 is also a good one for me. The needle looks the same in the gun as it does out of the bottle, but it is very easy to bend because it extends almost to the guard's edge when it is in the gun. I ended up with some paint buildup on the needles. The needle was bent and ruined when I went to dab it clean I didn't realize it until after it was clean. It was a lesson learned, but guess what else? In case you need replacement needles, you can buy them for $12 each. I would recommend this compressor to anyone. This unit is quiet and has a water condensation trap as well as a pressure gauge. It is a fantastic kit. I'm delighted with it.
