The thickness is 0 as a result of it's thickness. Because the canvas is 9 inches wide, you only need to leave a side of the canvas larger than 1 inch for mounting.

Wooden Stretched Bars with Glue Tape (4 pieces), Traceless Hook Kit (2 pieces), Trapezoid Wood Holder (4 pieces), "U" shaped Peg (4 pieces), Wooden Stretched Bars with Glue Tape (4 pieces). We also include a spirit level and nails to aid in the installation process.

It's simple, quick, and it works flawlessly. To secure your canvas, you'll need a staple gun. On all sides, the frame should be about 2" smaller than the canvas. Stretching a canvas over a sturdy wood frame is one of my favorite things to do. Working alone, it took me less than ten minutes. You'll also require mounting hardware for the wall. This frame is made of pine, which is a soft and easy-to-work-with material. I'm going to buy more.

This was for a canvas that I'd had for a long time. I used the internet to look up 'how to' videos, which made it a lot easier. It only took about 15 minutes to put together, and now my canvas can be displayed! It was well worth the money.

The width is acceptable, but the length is too short

I was given a 23-inch stretcher. 5 inches, and now my framed (correct size 16 x 24) painting has a one-half inch gap at the bottom. I'm stuck with a framed painting that doesn't fit the frame because there's no way to get a refund on this purchase. It should be 24 inches in length, but it isn't. Now I have to work around the flaw by covering the GAP in the back with black construction paper. This stretcher is not something I would recommend to others. I did get a smaller one for another painting, which worked out fine.
