This is what I used to take out my weave. I received this delightful product when I purchased a sewing machine. It was one of the extra items that came with it. The thread remover would have been of great benefit to me had I known about.
Compared to the 2 I have now, this is dull! Considering mine are about 20 years old, that is saying a lot! Even though they appeared to be in their original packaging, they looked worn. There's nothing shiny about it Metallic parts appear dull and cloudy due to a dull coating.
My advice would be to not.
Dollar store items are probably more durable and better quality. There were obvious jagged lines on both of the blades and they were somewhat dull. Additionally, the sheath was also cheap plastic, and I am not sure that they would have lasted very long with regular handling. It would have been better to purchase a bulk pack of cheapies somewhere else. I returned home.
Before this, I had a seam ripper that was not as useful, plus this set comes with a smaller one as well. I haven't used the smaller one yet, but I like having a backup. With the large one, I can remove stitches very effectively. I make scrunchies, and sometimes I screw up, and this is a lifesaver.
My favorite seam rippers have already been elevated to the status of favorites. They are more sturdy and comfortable to use than many of the ones I already have.
