It's fusible webbing, which doesn't appear to have any color. br>As far as I know, after ironing, it should be clear. I can't be sure because the package is sealed, so I can only go by what I read. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yes, the paper can be removed. Allowing the tape to cool on the fabric after ironing it on produces the best results, and using a small clover iron instead of a regular iron produces the best results.
The tape line will, indeed, be visible. This is a fantastic product, but I wouldn't recommend it for sheer fabrics, and I don't know of any alternatives.

I was using a Clover bias tape maker to make bias strips for quilting and needed to use adhesive to adhere curved strips to my quilt; this product is designed for that purpose. I had an old package of this that I was having trouble with and thought to myself, "Hey, it mustn't work because it's so old!" Nope. The problem persists in spite of the addition of a new package. This fusible web does not adhere properly, which causes me a great deal of frustration. br>br>Never again. br>br>I simply cut straight strips of fusible web from my existing product stash, and the difference is incredible! There will be no more misery. I could still make bias tape with the Clover bias tape maker and then use straight fusible web strips. It's super simple and doesn't require any effort. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! br>br>DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!.
With my iron, it took some trial and error to find the right heat setting. Too hot of a temperature prevents the glue from being released, and too cold of a temperature prevents the glue from being released. To get enough glue to set down, I need to add two layers.
Terrible! When instructions are followed to the letter, it simply does not work. I'm not sure if it's old or if it was never working properly to begin with.
The application of this did not impress me. For the Celtic designs, I followed the instructions exactly, and I was disappointed when the tape didn't work! It ironed on the bias tape just fine, but it didn't work when it came to transferring the design to the background fabric. It did keep the bias tape closed, but not in the way I had hoped.
It was a huge hit - Both the bias tape and the fabric it was ironed onto had excellent adhesion.
For professional finishing, it's a must-have item.
It's been invaluable for holding items in place as I do a lot of fabric art.
