You've found it. Now is the time to put an end to your search. You're looking for this needle. The needle, on the other hand, is something you absolutely must have. This is the one to use if you're hand stitching leather or heavy canvas cloth. If you're using Ritza Tiger in 0, you'll need to change your settings. 8 or 1. If the answer is 0, then this is the one (17, also known as 2/0). It was a little confusing, at least for me, to figure out which size would be best for me when using thicker Ritza thread and regular stitching chisels, but these little guys have lived up to the hype after a few months. Is a total of 25 required? No way, I haven't even bent one. The body is very sturdy, the swell around the eye is minimal for ease of passing through material while still enduring tons of pulling force without breaking [I'm looking at you Tandy], and the inside surface of the eye will not shred your thread halfway through a stitch line. Am I glad I have what seems like a lifetime's worth? Hell yes. Simply buy it instead of searching for it.
I've been working with leather for more than 30 years. I have a large collection of needles, but these are my favorites. The shank and the eye are the same size. They're well-made and have just the right amount of sharpness without being overly so.
Hand sewing leather projects with these needles is a breeze. Very long lasting, In addition, the price is very reasonable.
