Questions & Answers

How easy is it to cut this?

My corsets have been made for over ten years and I use simple wire cutters, making two snips in each strand (one on each side of the spiral instead of trying to cut all the layers at one time.

What is the use of this as a bra underwire replacement?

The wire could be bent as needed, but it may not fit through the same channel from which it came. In order to slip it through, there will need to be about 1/4" between the top and bottom stitches on the channel. Nonetheless, as long as you're sewing a bra from scratch you can accommodate for this, whereas if you're repairing a ready-made bra you might not be able to.

In order to make a coat look more structured, I want to use this. Is this material sturdy enough to hold its shape if used in a semi circle at the bottom of ?

There is a lot of strength in it. In the case of my daughter's wedding gown, I found it to work Despite its flexibility in all directions, it retains its shape. It seems to me that your fabric will be able to hold its shape if it is stiff enough to support weight and thickness.

order more tips of the same size (3/16") if I order them now? If tips 1/4" are also suitable for use with spiral metal boning 3/16", then what should I use? My sincere thanks go out to ?

can't use a 1/4" tip with 3/16 boning, it won't stay on. I tried it and it did not

Having good boning is important
4/5

Unfortunately, I purchased this item when it was not eligible for prime, and I was pressed for time, so I paid for faster shipping, however it never arrived as quickly as I expected but the product was very good - I couldn't locate this width metal boning anywhere else It was just awesome to have it available to me. I needed it to do exactly what I needed. The only issue I have with it is that there should've been more tips included in it! There are 10 yards of boning on each side of 24 pins Do you mean you have to finish only 12 pieces of boning when you have a lot more wire to use? As long as you know what you're doing (using pliers in each hand, separating one at a time, cut and clean the excess), cutting wire is easy. I have a couple of tips to share. When you use two pliers (one to flatten and hold the tip in place and the other to secure the legs), the task is much easier. When doing it for the first time, you should keep in mind that the tips will roughly add a quarter inch, so make sure you.

It is flawed
4/5

My review writing isn't that good. It's never ending. The boning is great, but the 24 tips that come with it are a joke. Because you have to pry them open in order to insert the boning, and then you can't squeeze them too tight they pop right off! I'm pretty sure they're the wrong size, because you have to pry them open in order to insert the boning! Despite this, they still slip off when they aren't tight enough. In case you are wondering, this is not user error. Exactly the type of boning you need, buy the tips separately. (I am an experienced sewer, I'll be using this a wedding dress I'm making for a friend) So buy this boning if you need good boning!.

The price is great, the shipping was fast, and it feels really good
5/5

This was an excellent deal, the shipping was fast, and it seems to be of good Two corsets just got put together with it, and I hope it holds up as well as my old source, because if I can save a little money, I wouldn't I have no complaints regarding the quality of this post if it is still rated as great 3 months after it was posted. However, I'm that customer, so if my boning snaps, you'll have to edit the comment haha, happy sewing everyone!.

It's very nice boning, and does what it is meant to do
5/5

It has a nice boning and does what it is supposed to do. When cutting it, there's no need to "cut" it, you just need to bend it backward and forward at a specific point.

Even though I did receive the boning I ordered, it was not as much as I wanted
3/5

My order of boning arrived in sufficient quantity, but the metal tips I ordered did not arrive. As stated in the listing, item 24 has been sold. There was a sticker on the packaging that said there were Despite the package including none, none was included in reality.

There are a lot of tips that There is no question and no doubt that the boning works excellently, but the dips fail
4/5

It's not a good sign. Whatever you do, no matter how much you bend, tweak, squeeze, or pinch them, they will not stay on. All I had to do to help them was use a tiny piece of duct tape.

Very nice stuff, thanks for sharing
5/5

My favorite thing about using this stuff is that it's so easy to use. As I have made two wedding dresses from it, it gives a smooth, flattering fit because of its combination of strength and flexibility. It comes with a little too few ends, that's the only complaint I'd have.

A boning that is enclosed does not fit well and is not as flexible as a boning of higher quality
3/5

It is impossible to use the enclosed tips. This is essentially useless since the elastics fall right off no matter how you squeeze or hammer them. Previously, I have gotten boning from other sources and never encountered this issue. It is much stiffer than the spiral steel boning I used in the past. The spiral steel boning I used in the past should be more flexible. The roll has already been cut to experiment, so I'm not sure whether it can be returned.
