If you want to use seed beads in your project, you must first thread them all on, then slip the bead up and crochet your stitch. As you go, make sure to wiggle the bead to the front of your project. Slide a bead up as needed and continue crocheting.
Yes, these are the size I prefer for locs.

I do a lot of crocheting! I make hats for NICU babies, cancer patients, and the homeless, among other things. I use a variety of stitches and yarn weights to create my work. If I'm listening to a good book, I can sometimes crochet for two or three hours per day. br>br> I've tried every hook imaginable, from the most basic all-metal hooks to the more expensive Boye hooks. My "must have" requirements for a good hook are an ergonomic handle, a smooth hook and shaft, and a hook that won't split my yarn on the forward or pull stroke (I used to think that only an in-line hook would split my yarn). I thought a line hook would suffice, but I was mistaken. These are tapered hooks, and they're fantastic! ) Until I tried my first Clover Armour hook, my Boyes were my favorites. RIGHT AWAY, you could tell the difference! br>br>I'm not sure what they do to the hook and shaft (metal parts) of these ergonomic hooks, but the Clover Armours' hook and shaft aren't as shiny as the Boye or any other, and that not-so-shiny hook and shaft are a turn-off for me. The difference was immediately noticeable because the shiny metal glided through the yarn with such ease. Like the bottom of a baby's bum! br>br>My yarns (I only use medium, light, and sport weights) are not split by the hook. The hook does not pull the yarn, does not "pop through," and does not require yanking. The decrease in hand fatigue was incredible. I'll never be able to return to that place again. Crochet hooks that are the best I've ever seen!.
A project that I was working on required a 1. I decided to use this one because it had a 75mm hook and a specific yarn. Because it was amigurumi, I expected it to knit up very tightly, and I usually do, but the hook seemed too small. The piece ended up looking strange, so I began troubleshooting, concluding that all I needed was a larger hook. br>br>I dug through my hook collection and discovered a 1. 80 Boyle. It was of the same proportions as the 1. Clover (75). Knitpicks' 2mm hook was a significant step up in size. The right-hand hook in the photo is the 1. Clover is 75mm in diameter, and the hook on the left is a 1. 75mm hook of undetermined origin - I believe it is a German brand. br>br>I suppose this is a lesson in trusting your instincts over the size of the hook. I still like the hook, but I'll have to keep in mind that Clover appears to be a small size.
The 0 was purchased. It's 60 inches long and looks great! It's extremely durable and simple to operate. It's ideal for dreadlocks. This book comes highly recommended.
Because I have a mild case of arthritis, I read that ergonomic hooks were the way to go, so I began reading reviews. After hearing so many positive things about the Clover brand, I decided to order the size hook my project required to see if I liked it before investing in a full set. Size G (4. ) Cliver hook 0 millimeters) is incredible! I can crochet for hours without getting tired of it. Even fine baby sport yarn glides through it with ease. In just a few days, I had ordered the entire set! My hook arrived in a small box, much earlier than expected. Everything was in perfect working order. This purchase has made me very happy.
My wife, on the other hand, was using a different brand. having only hooking problems - Her yarn didn't slide easily, and so on - She purchased this hook as part of a larger project she was working on. I was blown away by how smoothly her yarn flowed with this hook. Thus - I wasn't opposed to spending $100 on a complete set for her - She has a lot of Crochet projects going on. It was an investment that paid off handsomely.
I bought two sizes of this hook, one fine and one medium, and the same thing happened with both. All I have to say is darn it darn it darn it darn it darn it darn it darn it darn it darnit darnit darnit darnit darnit darnit darnit darn.
I've now received my second needle. The first one, like the replacement, broke near the hook end. br>br>I like the handle, but I think it's secondary to the poor design of the hook itself. br>br>With both, the crochet needles tend to become very thin near the hook and break off, rendering the needle useless. br>br>In addition, when using the needle, the hook is quite shallow, making crocheting much more difficult because the thread / hair does not sit properly in the hook. br>br>I'd like to get a refund on the current needle I have, which is also broken.
Boyle hooks have been my go-to crochet hooks for over 40 years. Carpal tunnel syndrome is something I'm suffering from. My hands began to swell with arthritis. To relieve the cramps in my hand caused by the all-metal hooks, I began using these hooks. This hook is simple to use. comfortable to hold, but the depth of the hook for holding the yarn is my one minor quibble. I'm used to a hook that's a little more substantial. an end that is slightly more pointed This hook is a little too shallow for me, and it took me a while to get used to it. I keep using it because the cushioned grip prevents my hands from becoming tired. Between the hook's end and the soft grip's start, there's about a pound of metal. 5”. You may not have enough space to complete some stitches depending on the size of your yarn and the pattern. Overall, I'll keep using them for my more demanding work. patterns that are longer Otherwise, I'll revert to my tried and true favorites.
