Because the rings are plastic, they are much more difficult to size. Invest the extra cash in a metal one.
This set was purchased by my daughter to aid her in the creation of her own jewelry for sale on her Depop store. She makes custom rings out of wire and odds and ends, which she sells to other children for $2-$3. It took her some time to figure out how to read the sizing ring correctly, but she eventually figured it out. She appears to be getting along with the tool now that she is more comfortable with it.
I've had my eye on a ring for quite some time. sizer for a long time I haven't had a chance to put it to the test against rings of known sizes, but I like that this set includes a zillion sizes and multiple ways to test for them (fixed rings, sizing bands, and the wand to check the size of existing rings). I'll put it in my bag and take it to a mall or something, where I'll ask permission to put a few rings on it just to make sure it's accurate. It's only plastic, but I only needed something for my own use (I'm not a jewelry maker), and this is more than adequate.
Because it isn't smoother, it's difficult to slide the ring up and down to smooth out the wire when making rings with wire.
I had the impression it was a nice quality material, but it turned out to be very cheap and flimsy. This is just garbage, so I'll save up and get the real metal one. It seemed like a good deal at the time, but it turned out to be a waste of money. The ring sizer simply says "plastic," but it does not specify that everything is made of low-cost plastic.
The sizing is extremely precise. Simple to work with.
It is extremely practical. I needed to determine the ring size of my child, and it was simple and quick. I was under the impression that the ring sizer was made of metal, but it is actually made of plastic. I'm not sure if that's mentioned or not.
Everything in the picture arrived on time, but because I didn't read the entire description, I was disappointed to learn that the ring tool was made of plastic, though it will still function.
