Questions & Answers

Do you think these beads would fit over a hanger's hook? I'm considering using it as a measuring tool. Thank you very much! ?

I just tried one on a wire hanger and a few with the small wire hook atop the plastic arms that department stores sometimes include with clothing. It wouldn't fit on a plastic hanger even if it tried. I hope this information is useful.

Is each color represented by the same number of beads?

I'm not sure if they're equal, but I wasn't overly influenced by any one color.

Does it include the iron-on paper?

There is no iron on the paper that crinkles when you use the bucket. Separately, I bought the paper. Parchment paper, as stated by another customer. Sheet pan for baking Would be just as effective. The tricky part is the beads, which can melt at different rates depending on the color. As a result, you'll need to do some experimenting.

What hues are you thinking of?

The majority of the colors used are primary. They're a hit with our grandchildren!

We like these, but it's incredibly frustrating that they aren't available separately by color (in biggie size)
4/5

My son ran out of black quickly, but he still has more than half of his bucket. I despise having to go out and buy a new bucket just so he can finish his ladybug. As a result, it's a bit of a rip-off. Next, he'd like to make a spider - I'm afraid the next bucket won't have enough black to complete the lady bug and spider. That will necessitate the purchase of a third bucket. But I'm not sure he'll be able to handle the small beads just yet; he's only four and has a short attention span. Ugh.

I saw a video on how to make enamel dots and they were much larger than the regular size
5/5

This piqued my interest. Making embellishments is one of my favorite things to do. Perler beads are something I've never bought or used. I asked a friend if she had six she could give me as a test before spending money on a tub. I was surprised by the size of the beads. There are at least 25 different hues to choose from. I performed my research, found the best deal, and placed my order on Amazon. I have no intention of making any shapes; all I want to do is create a large number of dots. I'll never be able to use up all 11,000 beads in my life!br>br>The beads are melted in an oven. Using my convection toaster oven, I had to do a lot of trial and error to find the right temperature. I even used one of those miniature electric fry pans. I use it to keep the melted chocolate in a glass measuring cup warm enough for dipping when I'm making marshmallow pops. This is a fantastic solution. To keep the beads from sticking to the cookie sheet or tray, place them on parchment paper first. The paper will burn and turn brown if the oven temperature is too high, I discovered. Despite the fact that the beads melted properly, they remained stuck to the paper. I've got a lot of paper stuck to a lot of beads now. They can still be used, but I'd rather not have that issue. The parchment paper can only be used once; for each batch, start with a new sheet. This was not mentioned in the majority of the videos. br>br>I watched a few videos, but only one person mentioned Biggie Beads. They don't appear to be widely available in stores or online. They arrived the next day after I ordered them on Amazon. It's a bit disappointing that there are only eight different colors. The Biggie Beads are enormous in comparison to the "regular one," as you can see in my photo. There's also a mini bead, which I have no idea how big it is. Despite the fact that it is not stated on the tub, the tub I ordered appears to be quite small. br>br>To melt the beads, I'm going to order some silicone mats from Amazon. This way, they'll all be able to slide off without getting stuck. I had to peel the beads off even after they were baked and the paper had browned slightly. It's not quite as bad as burning paper. br>br>I think the best results came from baking it at 325 for at least 30 minutes or a little longer in the convection oven. Some of them will flatten out more if you bake them longer, but not by much. Some of them didn't spread or flatten at all. It would also be determined by how thick you want the dots to be. I'd try 325°F for 30 minutes in a regular toaster oven or oven. The convection temperature has increased by 25 degrees. br>br>It appears that the baking process takes a long time. I put them in the oven and went about my business, forgetting that the beads were melting. BTW, in the first video I saw, the oven was set to 450 degrees for an unknown amount of time. It was extremely hot, and one of the beads had burnt edges, as well as the paper.

I've used regular Fuse Beads and Aquabeads, and they're both pretty big and pricey
4/5

That is one of my favorite products, and this is right up there with it. All products, in my opinion, are equally nice and have their own set of advantages and disadvantages. br>br>Advantages - The fact that these are less frustrating to work with is, in my opinion, their greatest strength. They're bigger, so kids can work with them and place them with their hands more easily. Furthermore, because of their size and the larger peg boards you use with them, they are less likely to fall over. Because the plastic is thick and vibrant, these are also of high quality. They can also be used as beads (instead of pony beads) for art projects due to their solid/nice design. br>br>Cons - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be. My biggest criticism of these is that they may be a tad too large. I thought these were a little too big, and as a result, the designs appear to be a little less nice than the other products. Also, because of their size, they are not as good a value, as you only get 1200 beads for the standard price of $20 on Amazon (I did not pay that much). Not a great deal for a simple product; for the price, they should be closer to ten dollars. br>br>Overall, I'd buy these again, just as I'd buy the similar items I mentioned earlier, but for different reasons/uses. These may meet your needs, and I plan to purchase more in the future.

This is a fantastic activity for children in preschool
5/5

I've wanted to do some perlers for a while, but I have a four-year-old who I knew would not take no for an answer if I had any kind of bead in the house! D I bought these after hearing about them from a friend, and I'm very happy with them! She can easily pick them up and handle them because they are large. I would advise you to keep track of how long you iron them for, as we warped one of the peg boards while attempting to melt them sufficiently. Another trick is to make your design, then tape it over the top with painter's tape or masking tape, lift it off, flip it over, and iron the other size. This way, you won't have warped boards. Overall, this purchase has exceeded my expectations. However, I wish there were more color options.

I'm a big fan of these big beads! For my kids (4, 6, 8) it was preferable to the smaller ones! However, don't forget to pick up some boards! These beads are fantastic, but they do not come with a board
5/5

I bought them thinking that my 4-year-old daughter would enjoy them. These would be fun for a ten-year-old to play with. After seeing how much my 6- and 8-year-olds preferred these biggie beads to the originals, I decided to make some myself.
