) What a colorful tray! The children enjoyed the idea book. We have a lot of shaped platforms, but they don't have the creativity to make their own without some help. They're currently tweaking some of the concepts to make them look the way they want. This is an excellent product!.
I bought a two-pack of cigarettes. I thought it was a good deal because it came in a pack. There was only one of each.
These are incredibly affordable for the amount of beads you get, and I'm thrilled to have them: )br>br>(note that the pins in the picture are some that I've made before with perler beads, as well as the same box and some glow in the dark ones from my local craft store. ).
The beads are fine, and the package states that there are two of them. Only one person showed up. A bead tray is included. It does not come with a bead tray. It's extremely inconvenient to have to return it rather than have the rest sent to you.
The original clear film that encased the product was ripped on the side from top to bottom when the package was opened. The kit did not include a bead pattern book. I'm guessing it fell out because there was a huge rip on the side; I only gave it one star because I bought it for my 4-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter. They haven't progressed far enough to be able to design their own patterns yet. They appreciate having a step-by-step guide to follow as they make their crafts. I'm hoping the seller will include the book of activity bead patterns in the package. If not, I'll have to buy it separately, and I despise having to pay for something I was supposed to get with the money I already spent. ☹.
Perler Beads are one of our favorite things to play with. We also do Beados and Quixels, which are somewhat similar, but Perler appears to be our favorite. My four-year-old will sit for hours making all of his favorite characters, such as Ninja Turtles and Minions, because I feel like these challenge them the most (in a good way), whereas similar crafts are too easy/simple to make and extremely expensive. We go online and look at pictures, and he simply counts the beads/rows and builds from there. I like how he's counting and concentrating. I really like how he's putting his fine motor skills to use. Perler Beads are a favorite of my older daughter's as well. This bead tray holds a large number of beads and organizes and separates them nicely. I also appreciate the fact that I can customize the tray. My daughter made a few cute objects with the help of the idea book. Until we read the book, we had no idea what options were available to us. This kit and idea book are a hit with us. It includes all of the best (primary) colors, as well as a few others.
Because this was listed as a "two pack," I decided to order it instead of another similar set that was cheaper. "As I was writing this review, I noticed another one stating that it is NOT A TWO PACK, and they are completely correct; only one set is included. Hopefully, unlike me, others will read this before making a purchase. br>br>As for the product itself, my daughter enjoys using these, but you'll need the frames that aren't included.
What has happened to us? This is a fantastic activity that will keep you entertained for many hours. This set is appealing because all of the colors are separated, saving time from having to sift through a bucket of various hues. My only criticism is that the darkest blue isn't truly dark. I only know because we also received a bucket of perler beads, which contained a true dark blue. I like the variety, and if you add a few more buckets, you'll have all the colors you need to create some nice shading for various projects. My five daughters range in age from five to seventeen. These are used by children as young as eleven years old. We all adore them (including myself), and we've spent at least 1 hour with them. Working on projects for 2 hours a few times per week.
