Questions & Answers

Is there a needle included in the box?

Two needles were included in the package.

What is the size of the beads that come with this loom?

I'm not sure what size they were, but I believe they were a size 10. I didn't use them because they were nothing special. It's a small bag filled with opaque beads in a variety of colors. They'd be ideal for a beginner who wants to get some loom practice in. I prefer to work with seed beads, mostly size 10 and occasionally size 11 that I have purchased. I sew on a watch face after gluing bracelets to leather bands and attaching a snap set. They're really nice, and I've received a lot of positive feedback on them.

What is the maximum width of a finished item that this loom can produce?

2 in.

Is it possible to weave without beads with this? (ie. Are you just using embroidery floss or yarn to weave?

Sort of. You'll probably have a hard time getting a consistent, tight weave, and it doesn't come with the tools you'd need to weave thread/yarn into fabric.

Beginners and up will enjoy it
5/5

This was my first attempt at loom beading, and this loom was perfect! One reviewer complained that it was too difficult to assemble, but if putting a screw through a hole and tightening a wing nut on the end is too difficult for you, then loom beading isn't for you. This loom allows you to make pieces that are longer than the loom, which was ideal for the hatband I wanted to make. The beads that came with it are adequate for practice, but the thread is easily tangled. Before beginning my actual project, I practiced with the provided materials (the beads and string pictured were purchased separately). I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in trying their hand at loom beading!.

Beginners will appreciate this sturdy loom
5/5

I'm a beginner and didn't want to get anything too fancy before seeing if I like doing this type of thing, so this bead loom is perfect for me. I don't think I'll get another loom for a long time because this one is quite sturdy. But here are some pointers: br>br>1) Purchase a variety of needles. It comes with two needles that are a little too thick to be useful. I purchased some collapsible eye needles, which were extremely useful. br>2) Switch to a different thread. The thread is good for practice, but it's a little clumsy and knots easily, even if you're careful. As a back-up, I purchased NYMO Nylon Beading Thread in Size D. br>3) The included beads are good for practice, but I'd recommend Miyuki Delica Seed Beads. I haven't purchased any yet, but I plan to do so after I've gone through the beads in the kit and my own inexpensive hobby store beads. br>4) If the loom's short length bothers you, gently bend both ends to open it up a little more. I did, and it gave me a lot more room to work with without causing the loom to be damaged or warped. It has a lot of leeway.

Overall, there are benefits and drawbacks, but I am satisfied
4/5

I thought it would be fun to pick up one of these as a beginner beader and try out a few projects. It includes beading needles (which are very small and have tiny eyes), thread (which is actually of good quality), and a variety of beads. Unless you have some additional beads to go with it and don't mind the mismatch, I wouldn't recommend using the beads that come with it. I've already posted a couple of bracelets, and here's what I think: br>br>Be ready for this sucker to bend outwards. You don't have much space from one end of the loom to the other as it is. Before I ran out of room, my first project was approximately 5 inches long. (This included being so close to the finish line that it yanked the project apart. ) ) However, if you have a larger wrist like me, that won't suffice. I bent the metal outwards on both sides as evenly as I could and was able to increase the size of my projects by about 3 inches. I'm sure there's more I could get out of it, but for now, I'll refrain. It does raise the loom, but I found that it helped me sit straighter and lessen the strain on my back by bringing the work closer to my face. br>br>It's swaying and moving. The loom was not flat on the table even before I bent it myself. One of the four corners is always slightly higher than the other three. It's not a terrible problem to have, but it does exist. Furthermore, unless you have a slip-and-fall insurance policy, To use this one, you'll need a non-slip surface because it will move. Because I work on wooden tables with no mat or cloth underneath, I had to fight the loom as it sped around my workspace at first. After a while, you'll get used to it, but you may want to invest in some slippers. Underneath it, there should be a proof mat. br>br>The wooden dowels do a fantastic job of holding everything together. I was worried that bending the frame would loosen them or cause them to spin, but this did not happen. You shouldn't have any problems as long as you secure them the way they're supposed to be. br>br>It does exactly what it's supposed to. There's no need to get fancy when it comes to threading your warps. After you cut your piece loose, you'll have a lot of threads to deal with. The loom comes with almost no instructions on how to use it. (I suggest watching videos on YouTube. ) It's a straightforward, entry-level product. level loom for anyone interested in giving it a try before investing in a more expensive one.

It gets the job done, but it necessitates a great deal of coordination
4/5

Totally worth the (low) price, and it gets the job done. I'm a big fan of beads and beading, so this is a great place to start if you're looking for small projects or want to try bead looming. However: br>br>
1. A bead loom, especially one as small and light as this one, necessitates a high level of manual dexterity. This project would not be suitable for inexperienced pre-school teachers in its current form. teens. The use of the small needle and seed beads, as well as the setup, is a little tricky. While practice makes perfect, the process can be frustrating at first, and the product isn't very forgiving (i. e. , it reveals all of the flaws). Young beaders can begin with thicker threads (you can set up the loom for them) and larger beads (not included in the package) before progressing to more complicated projects. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br It's important to remember that all beads (even the tiniest seed beads) come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Matching bead size and quality (some are milled more evenly than others) before starting the project will make the final product look better. Consider putting together a "sampler" (i. e. Before beginning a larger project, test a few rows with the beads you intend to use to ensure that they work well together.

The loom is very nice
5/5

The loom is beautiful, but the beads are disappointing. Miyuki beads are recommended for anyone purchasing this loom. The inner diameter of the beads in this kit was incorrect. Many of them were unable to continue. br>However, because the loom was my primary purchase, I gave this item five stars. The loom is beautifully constructed.
