Questions & Answers

What's the number of thread grooves?

A total of 45 grooves can be found on this disc. I have yet to use it, but it appears to be simple. It comes with clear instructions.

Is it left-handed if you hold it in your hand? handed ? Isn't it true that many things don't work in both directions?

In any case, it works. I'm on my own- I wasn't bothered by it in the least. Of course, if your dominant hand is your left, you must usually think of the instructions with your left hand.

So there's a possibility that this could hold 44 warps?

The warping area measures approximately 2-inches wide. 1/2 to 2- It measures 3/4 inches in diameter and weighs about 44 ounces. There are 45 warp thread slots. This is a small slot. I hope this information is useful.

Is it possible to loom a round or hexagonal project? Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. ?

YES, YOU CAN USE ANY BEAD SHAPES IN THIS LOOM. THE WAYS IN WHICH YOU CAN USE IT ARE ENDLESS. IT ALLOWS YOU TO BE CREATIVE WITHOUT HAVING TO RESPOND TO ANYONE!

AFTER TWO BRACELETS, I HAD SNAPPED IN HALF! It was cute at first, but after two bracelets, it snapped in half! The concept is sound, but the implementation is lacking
3/5

The plastic middle is under too much stress. I'll most likely cut the ends off and screw them into my homemade frame. br>br>The idea gets two stars, but the execution gets one. br>br>After watching her YouTube video, I was ecstatic, but now I'm heartbroken.

A New Type of Addiction It's a blast to play with - and it is also simple
5/5

Warning: It's possible that this will turn into a habit. Julianna Hudgins, the creator, created a fantastic YouTube video demonstrating how to use it, which I also recommend to beginners. I've now purchased several of them so that I can work on another project while the glue dries on the first. Once you've mastered flat designs, try adding textured beads.

Plastic loom with stress fractures
3/5

I bought this loom and have only used it twice, but on the second threading of my fireline, I noticed that the damn loom is showing stress right where it needs to bend to get the metal stretcher out. I can't get a good picture of it, but there is now a small crack that is getting worse. br>br>I'd like to issue a warning to others about your loom. Successful looms, at least the most successful of them, are made of wood, so that's something I'll have to think about in the future. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> It's been 60 days since I bought this Jewel Loom kit, so it's been a little over a month. I looked in a few other places on the internet and spoke with people who own or use this loom. More than half of the 25 other leaders I spoke with said the same thing: the Jewel Loom cracked and/or snapped within the first month of use. The majority of people told me that the snapping happened in the center, where you have to bend it long enough to insert and remove the metal rod. A few Crafters stated that after purchasing additional looms, they discovered the EXACT same flaws in the center. br>br>I like this loom because it's lightweight and because my hands and arms are affected by Rheumatoid Arthritis. having a loom that is lighter and easier to work with The problem, as far as I can tell, is that no one seems to notice that this loom has a structural flaw. Or it's possible that Beadalon is unconcerned. I'm on SSDI, so my money is limited, and while this wasn't as expensive as some of the others, it's still money I won't see again. If I try to use it again, I'm worried it will break.

For a beginner, I believe this would be a good option
4/5

I've got a few of those craft-related items. I was considering buying one of the store's generic beading looms with the black metal frames and wooden cylinders, but I decided to buy this on the spur of the moment after seeing the Look Inside preview of the "Jewel Loom Inspirations" companion book. br>br>I'm pleased with it so far. I've completed a few bracelets in a variety of styles. I still need to improve my finishing technique, but I keep coming back to this instead of abandoning it like so many other craft items I've purchased in the past, so that's something. The versatility is my favorite feature. br>br>First, I made a Chan Luu style wrap bracelet with some glass and gemstone rounds using Greek leather as warp threads. I'd say that unless you're really into single wraps, you should probably stick to them. Because the working length is only about 10 inches. I have 5. I had 25 inch wrists (pretty small, I know) and tried a double wrap (thinking the clasp would add length), but it ended up being quite tight fitting. So, in terms of length, this is suitable for single bracelets. Unlike other types of looms, there is no way to move the work by stringing longer warp threads. I've also had success with various threads/cords recommended by the loom's designer in the Jewel Loom Inspirations book. br>br>I'm not using this for traditional round seed beads. I've seen photos of pieces that have been created with two colors. This loom produced hole square beads, gemstone rounds, and other unusual beads, and one of the things I liked about it was the idea of looming with nontraditional beads. (Plus, larger beads make the pieces go together faster!) ) I made a fun bracelet out of 4mm Miyuki glass cubes and am now working on a staggered pattern out of 2-mm Miyuki glass cubes. Miyuki Tila squares with a hole br>br>It's fairly simple to add the warp threads to this, especially if you follow the instructions. This is something I can't stress enough. I was having serious problems until I read the instructions and realized I was doing it incorrectly. Work on ONE warp thread at a time, wrapping it around the back "button" before moving on to the next. This is a good loom for beginners, in my opinion. br>br>It comes with a plastic zipper pouch (good for keeping track of the metal bar when it's not in use), a needle threader (I don't use it, but it's there if you want it), a long needle (useful, especially for pieces that use the entire width of the loom), and instructions (I used the Jewel Loom Inspirations book for those because it's full color). If the needle breaks (which I have not experienced), you can replace it with beading needles purchased elsewhere. br>br>However, this product is not without flaws. For example, removing the metal bar after you've set up your warp threads is extremely difficult. The angles of the bent parts on the ends are simply incorrect for coming out of the holes where the bar is supposed to go. The metal bar scrapes up the plastic around the edges of the holes as you bend the loom into a deeper curve. Even though the instructions state that you must remove the bar, you are not required to do so. A demonstration of the Jewel Loom in use can be found in the Fire Mountain seed beading catalog, and whoever set it up added beads without removing the bar. Plus, for my first bracelet, I didn't remove the bar, and it worked out fine. (If the warp threads are tight enough, the plastic piece's bowing won't change much whether the bar is present or not. ) )br>br>I'm not sure how I feel about bending such stiff plastic. Mine hasn't shown any signs of breaking, but I don't expect it to last forever. Also, for what it's worth, this does not fit in the palm of your hand like it claims. That's fine with me because it's easier to use if I set it on a table so I can manipulate beads and the needle with both hands free. br>br>At the end of the day, I'm satisfied with it, but it does have some flaws, as previously mentioned. It's a good choice for a beginner because it's inexpensive, you can make some cute projects quickly (especially with larger beads), and it allows you to see if you like beaded loomwork.

shattered in half Right now, I'm very depressed
3/5

I made one bracelet with the rod in, and it turned out fine, but when I tried to remove the rod to put the loom away, I snapped it in half. The rod was difficult to insert and even more difficult to remove, and I'm usually pretty good at these kinds of things, so I should have been able to do it. However, in order to remove it, you must bend both the loom and the rod, and it was extremely easy to slip and snap the loom. br>br>However, I noticed that I was hunched over a lot while using the loom. I thought having a loom I could hold in my hand would be ideal, but I had to put it in my lap a lot to do the beading, so perhaps a loom that sits on a desk would be preferable. I guess I'll just screw the ends to an improvised frame, as someone else suggested. The important part is the conclusion.

Because it was fairly simple to use, I gave this loom a positive rating
3/5

I was going to give this loom a positive review because it was simple to use, but after only two uses, it started cracking right where the rod bends when you insert it. I discovered that this is a common complaint after reading other reviews. Two stars is actually a lot of money. I'm extremely disappointed!.
