Questions & Answers

The problem is, I have a gaming PC and a PlayStation 4 controller. I want to buy these with the amp but they only offer them on the Xbox One. Can I use these on my PC?

Yes, I agree. Play either PS4 or PC on the amp OR play both PS4 and PC on the amp. If you choose the Xbox option, you should be able to use the game on both your Xbox and PC. Make sure not to connect the optical cable to the back of the amp, but instead to use the USB connection instead if you are using it for a PC. A problem with setup could occur if this is not the case

Do these headsets have the capability to be updated through a ?

The answer is yes.

What kind of microphone monitoring does the unit have?

It is possible to edit the Mixamp and the Reverb Change the microphone settings by plugging it into the PC and clicking the button The Astro Command Center program must be installed

Now that some updates have been made, it should work fine. Below is my review, which you can ignore. The Xbox One headset is not a good purchase for your console. Your dashboard gets frozen and your console becomes useless after a few games you paid $250 and $500 for. If you want to get in touch with me, please contact Amazon or Astro.

I really like the Mix Amp
3/5

There is no way to justify the price of the headphones. Here are some good things This mix Amp is a wonderful piece of gear if you want to hear console and PC sounds at the same time. On my PC Discord I can talk and listen to others while hearing my Xbox One. This is exactly how I want it to work. The Mix Amp has also been equipped with a high-quality sound card, so you can plug in whatever you want and it will sound at its best. Windows Special Sound is both uplifting and captivating. There are a number of bad things I can't stand the sound of the headphones. They sound like The only star I'd give them is one. In fact, you'll actually lose the sound of cymbals because the sound of the band is so thinned out and washed out! When the bass swamps the details, it gets lost. believe it has to do with the way they process "spatial sound. ". What ever it is, everything that passes through them sounds thin, then it gets soaked in bass. When you lose detail, everything is lost. My opinion is that this is an unacceptable price point. My Sony Studio headphones, which come at the same price point, blow these other headphones out of the water. The odds are not in our favor! The headphones are also an incredible amount of weight. I could not wear them for long periods of time without becoming hot and uncomfortable. The headphones are totally disappointing to me, but the mix amp is what I wanted and it is perfect.

It's okay, but the Astro certainly has a lot to offer in terms of a "gaming headset
3/5

". How does it sound, how comfortable is it, and how does it feel? It's not at all like that. It took me about 2 weeks to switch between the older Gen 2 Astros, Logitech G Pro X and Beyerdynamic Custom Game, and I really am not an audiophile nor an expert. The results are as follows Please Note

Comfort The head on my head is small and my ears are small, but they don't protrude that You might find these Astro A40 TRs bulky and heavy if you fall on either end of the spectrum. There is a band that rests on the top of your head, and it's plush but not dense, and after a few hours maybe three, I had to start shifting the headset so my head didn't hurt. Although the earcups for me were fine, the fabric was soft, breathable, and my ears did not sweat. However, I did notice that they were warm in comparison to other headphones. The speakers inside did not touch either my ear or my ears. However, many reviews claim that the padding is great, but it isn't. These new Astro headphones have a cloth headband and earcups for much less money. My Astro A40 Gen 2 have much denser padding, but they don't give as much listening comfort (I will go into deeper detail under quality if you wish to skip it. )Sound IMPORTANT NOTE We used MW 2019, RB6, Tomb Raider 2, and sonic the hedgehog 3 There are three titles RE2, D2, Fortnite, and My first test was with Astro A40 TR without the mixamp, my second was with Astro A40 TR with the mixamp. How would the mixamp work without it? There is no way I can recommend them without feeling guilty. I find their sound to be extremely loud sometimes and can even hurt my ears, especially with certain high pitched sounds. Their boom factor is very Explosions, missiles, and gun shots will be heard loud and clear. However, how do reloads work? How about footstep? Is it crouching? Are you running? Are you walking? Everything else gets lost in the shuffle. What is the mixamp used for? The sound is still there, but you can control its level a lot more easily with various EQ's they give you or according to what you like. At the end of the day, it really didn't help, every time there is a lot of action, the sounds merge together and it is hard to distinguish what is coming from which. warfare was the most ridiculous invention. I think the problem may be more related to the game audio set, but no matter what EQ, what level of audio set, or how I set the volume levels, Modern Warfare always had a lot of noise. It is a lie to say someone can pinpoint footsteps with this game. The audio is now good when playing story-based games. I do not want to hear things like footsteps or reloads, but I want to hear everything. There are small details that you can hear and you can feel the action as soon as it begins. I'm not sure what more to say here since I got the same results no matter what headset I used, and I believe it was more of a matter of mixamp than anything else. The case of the seven is another story. Could you please surround me with 1? 7 . . The first surround consists of Is best when it comes to RPGs, single player games, ONLY IF they're made with 7 graphics. I am thinking of one surround. The reason I played RE2, D2, and Tomb Raider is because I like to play them. Both Tomb Raider and Return of the Jedi are outstanding games. While I wasn't impressed with D2, I don't think many in a looter shooter game need or want so much sound. But that's my point of view. A GAME WITH 7 STARS, WITH ANY OTHER GAME. There will be too much echo and thin sound with only one surround. The majority of reviews here make that claim, and it's 500% accurate. Single player games or shooters are not helped by it. Rather than improving the quality of the sound, it just makes it worse. Have you ever imagined what it would be like to have All the while, you are playing your game, you are wearing a can over your ear. The PS is Once you activate Dolby atmos (they'll download the app) you'll get a preset/EQ in the app. Be sure to go into the app and turn this off, or else it'll void/change the factory EQs on the amplifier. I'll describe the Mixamp in the following manner It does not have a button to turn it off. Despite its price point, it has no off button and costs 130 dollars. There is no explanation for the decision behind this issue, which is my biggest complaint. Having the lights on the mixamp shut off when you turn off your console would be fine with me, but they don't. There are the nobs and the dots for each EQ, the Xbox/PC lettering, and seven. All surround/stereo indicators on the system are lit There is quite a bit of brightness. There isn't a mute button, which is also not as big of an issue. You don't have to worry if you have an inline mute cable, but if you don't, it makes life a lot harder. A great feature of this amp is the rubber bottom that ensures it will not slip and slide when you walk on it. Game/chat knob has a notch at exactly 50, which you can tell clicked into place as soon as you heard it. If you're playing on the console, all you have are four presets, and you can't change them on the fly. Also, you will have to update the firmware, so it will not work as a plug-and-play device. In my experience, the process was not challenging or inconvenient, but such is the case for some. There will be red nobs on top if the cord is not fully connected or is incompatible. It consists of an optical port/cable. The cable has to be pushed or pulled with much more force than I had expected to be comfortable or necessary. There is no reason why no one has mentioned this. The force I was applying was so strong that I thought I would break it. There is no way for you to do it because it is just too If you're an Xbox user or know any Xbox users, because Microsoft doesn't allow all USB devices to work on Xbox you're limited in terms of amps. Astro Mixamp is your best bet to make your Xbox experience as versatile and convenient as possible. Additionally, I dislike side tones, and the amp's default setting is 50. If you go back to the default it will be Please make sure the microphone mode is set to streamer, otherwise you'll cut in and out occasionally. **Note about quality This was a real disappointment for me because I really enjoyed my Gen 2 Astros. It is nearly impossible to find a huge difference between the Gen 2 and Gen 4 computers after 4 years. There has been a downgrading of the cloth padding. There are fewer fibers, it's a lot thinner, and it gives in much more easily. The Gen4's were easy to remove the padding from I could pinch and pull the material without much effort. I noticed this most on the headband, which is a little wider and shorter, but overall, the headphones are still very comfortable. A photo would have been nice if I had remembered to take one. At the end of day 2 The headband of the Astros is no longer flexible after 4 hours of use, which results in your head having virtually nothing under it. I wore a cloth-padded helmet with maybe a half-inch of space between my head and the plastic. This was probably done to sell more of the mod kits which are 60 plus tax dollars for a headband/ear cup replacement. And you can just buy the full kit if you want a replacement headband and ear cup. The change in material would run you about 70 dollars, or half the cost of the entire headset, and it would turn into a closed-back noise-canceling headset. don't know what that means, look it up. It's just a whole different world to enter. However, you can't choose any other settings on the headset and it changes the way it sounds in gaming. However, it would be great to have more than one type of modkit, The Astro A40's have very little clamping force, and after a while they may spread out to the point that there is no longer any clamping force. Those who have an average or larger head will benefit more from these than I do because I have a small head. There were few differences between the previous generation's sound and this generation. While I definitely tried my hardest to find a big difference between Gen 2 and Gen 4, I wasn't able to find any. *TL *BR The bottom line The short version is if you have or had any other A40's, you've also had these. I plug in my Gen 2's into the amp and notice only a small difference in sound, the 266 (tax included) dollar price tag doesn't sit well with me. I prefer the amplifier to the headset because it's a better value. With its price tag of $150 plus tax, the headset isn't worth the money. It would be honest for them to seat at 100 In addition to the amp, the tax should be in the range of 80-120. The fact that I was forced to pay nearly 300 dollars for subpar quality made There is no difference in the appearance and build quality of the A40. This is similar to how it sounds. Get a better headset and use it with this amp if you needed an upgrade, or buy an amp used and save a few bucks. Get the amp used, and it will boost what you already have. There is no requirement to use an Astro headset with the amp, even though they do not state it. The only thing you need to do is to ensure An input jack of 5 mm is required. There is simply no point in investing 250 in them.

The sound is good, but the build quality is poor
3/5

The headset has a great appearance and a good sound quality with the mix amplifier however, the build quality isn't the best. There is absolutely no way I can chew on something with the headset on because it squeaks so loud. I literally can no longer wear it. There is also a really loud squeak coming from the top of the headband. Actually, I am really disappointed with the fact that I was asked to lubricate the friction areas of Astro's headset. At least for me, the headset is mostly cheap plastic and squeaks as a result. In addition, I am not a big fan of Astro's cloth ear cups. The Razer Kraken headset has way more comfortable ear cups at quarter the cost. They even offer to sell to you better ear cups because they know the base ones are pretty bad.

I much prefer this to the A50
5/5

Overall, this headset is amazing and has a lot of good qualities, as well as a couple of I love the way these headphones are made out of high quality thick plastic, doesn't feel cheap in the least with some metal like aluminum or stainless steel, and a very soft plush headband. The ear cups fit perfectly on my head and are incredibly comfortable. Drivers on this headset have a very high quality sound and are very smooth. It can be tweaked, however, in the Astro command center application, to make the mic sound better overall. following are the three. I think the 5 mm cord with the inline mute switch is a little bit shorter than I expected, but it's still perfect for underneath my desk and still leaves I love the fact that the mix amp is made from metal, and that the surround sound is very good as well. There is also a 2-year free subscription to Dolby Atmos for headphones included with this. Compared to the a50 wireless, I prefer these because they sound worse, have many more problems such as disconnecting randomly and not holding a charge, and you have to charge them which can be a hassle because they only charge when you have the computer or Xbox/PS4 on.
