I'm not sure if it'll fit the elite controller because I only have the original one, but if they're the same size, it should.
I purchased this for my daughter over a year ago and have yet to notice any residue. I have one on my controller as well, though I rarely use it. Mine, too, has left no trace. If you're a big gamer, I'm not sure it would. I hope this has been of assistance:

I bought it because I needed something to help me get a better grip on the controller. On another controller, I have a silicone skin that works great. However, this one was a dud. It has a slick, thin texture to it. If you want it for looks only, it'll suffice, but don't expect it to provide additional grip.
This is fantastic. It has a silky smooth feel to it and perfectly fits my Xbox One S controller. The paisley pattern in black and blue looks fantastic against the white controller. It feels strange at first, but it only took me about 2 minutes to get used to it. It's exactly how I imagined it to be. Also nice are the thumbstick covers. If you plan on putting it on and off frequently, the cover is a little thin, so don't be surprised if it tears or rips. I got it stuck in the battery cover, where it's now stretched out in a small space. Overall, it's a great product for the price, and it's exactly what I was looking for.
The only reason I gave it three stars was because there was a black hair stuck to my skin when I received it and opened the package. I thought it was mine at first, but it literally melted on there, giving me an uneasy feeling in my stomach, so I had to wash it off and scrape it off. It was fine after that, and I'm very comfortable with it now.
Although it appears to be cool, the skin interferes with the wireless charging station. Because the skin adds a small amount of height, I have to fiddle with it a little every time I charge it. It's a pain to deal with.
It also appears to be very appealing. I also appreciated the fact that it came with free thumb grips. Thank you for your help; I'll place another order.
On my controller, the skin looks fantastic. I was concerned that the raised area around the buttons would interfere with game play, but I've had no problems, and the smaller, more textured thumbstick covers are excellent and very grippy. I strongly advise you to do so.
The black and white design is so striking! It looks fantastic with the controller's white. I also like how it has ridges in the back for your fingers that weren't previously present. It's incredibly simple to put on and feels extremely satisfying.
