After receiving my Amazon box, I opened it only to see a picture of the black Xbox One controller on the front on opening it, I found the Xbox One controller in the color I ordered but it was the older, not the soft touch version Furthermore, I saw that the buttons seemed to have already been through a fair amount of use. Despite putting the proper batteries (including a brand new pair) inside the controller, they did not fit snugly, one battery fell out when I sat the controller upright on the TV stand, and to top it all off, it would not turn on! Other than the shipping part of the ordeal, it was a totally dissatisfying experience. An affiliate of Amazon has been the worst affiliate I have dealt with thus far.
Even though the purple soft touch cover is nice, it is evident that the controller was a used black controller with a soft touch purple cover. Initially, this came in multiple scuffs in the battery compartment and on the device itself (if new, it wouldn't have this number of scratches here). A second problem is that the purple face plate is not connected correctly on one side, so it is almost completely disintegrating. It was a great Go somewhere else and save your money or order through X Box to avoid spending a lot of money. Our disappointment was shared by both of us as we were both thinking of my husband's birthday gift. This is Hell. In the box (which was an xbox controller box that had already been opened, so the contents had already been put back in the box) there was already white fur on the controller before I even raised the lid all the way.
The prices are too high and the information is misleading. It was packaged, shipped, and arrived as expected, however, as others have stated, this is clearly a reconditioned unit or used control. The wear on the underside is evidence that it has been reconditioned. This lasted till my left thumb stick stopped working after a few hours of playing Minecraft. This is ridiculous at 84 plus dollars, at the very least they could be honest and use decent materials. My apologies for tossing the box when it seemed like a good idea. I have contacted the seller and will provide an update as soon as possible. At the moment, I would recommend buying directly from the factory and waiting for the custom instead of being disappointed.
This controller was a big hit when it first came out, and continues to be so. You will be able to peel more of the soft rubber like material off the more you use it. Although it might make a good backup controller, I wouldn't recommend it for an individual who plays video games more than.
My favorite part about this controller is the color. I have a problem though, it will not stay connected to my Xbox, will not work with a headphones, and there are parts in the controller that rattle. Paying too much was not a good decision for me!.
It's likely that this remote was used, as others have said. As to the box, it came in a different one than the controller's (which I didn't expect, but it wasn't a problem). First glance, this remote looked great. However, as soon as you hold it in your hands, you realize how poor it is. A small gap can be seen on the right side of the remote where the crease is between the front and back sides. However, it's enough to make me feel annoyed and I cannot seem to get it to move. As soon as you click them, the buttons seem to stick. A new remote doesn't have the tactile feel you get from a new one. Only one reason I wasn't able to give a one star review is because I bought the CD for my brother who doesn't agree with my assessment but doesn't care enough to return it. Using the remote, I am able to make these calculations.
The controller is a great piece of hardware. It works great for my husband and he loves it. negative aspect is that the colored face plate is not raised as much as it should be, so some of the buttons don't protrude as far as they should. In regards to the controller, it doesn't interfere with how it functions, but it is annoying a bit.
