I didn't want to pay too much, especially since the new consoles aren't due out until later this year, but I also didn't want to wait six months when the problem was simply a power supply. I received the item, plugged it in, and it immediately began to operate; I've been using it for a few weeks now and haven't had any problems. The supply is clearly of lower quality and is smaller and lighter than the OEM model. Time will tell how long it lasts, but for the price I paid, I can't complain; it's a lot better than overpaying for an OEM or purchasing a used one from a private party. br>br>3/9/21 UPDATE: br>br>It was necessary for me to replace the unit; Not because it broke, but because the bearing on the cooling fan inside went bad, making my living room sound like a jet plane. Worse, it would primarily do so when my Xbox was turned off. When it was plugged in, it would do it for a few seconds before quieting down, but once the Xbox was turned off, it began revving at high rpms and becoming extremely loud. I switched to a different brand because I couldn't bear walking into my living room in the morning and hearing a go kart racing around in front of my TV. Again, it did not fail; I simply did not want to deal with the noise; it powered up and ran my Xbox fine; I only wish they had spent a few cents more to improve the cooking fan and fan controller within these units. As a result, I reduced my 5-star rating to a 2-star rating.
This item was delivered ahead of schedule. The product, however, came in a shoddy package. In fact, it appeared to have been opened previously, almost as if it had been used, and the power cord that came with it would not stay attached at all. It was so sloppy that even the tiniest movement would cause it to disconnect and turn off. I'm glad I kept my old unit's other power cord. I was able to use that power cord, and it appears to work fine; however, the unit runs very quietly, which is the only positive aspect I can point to. I won't be buying anything else.
When I'm finished, I unplug it from my surge protector so it doesn't get too hot in standby or sleep mode. It should last at least three months. That has been the case thus far. When I plugged it in, there was no noise. Once or twice a week, I leave the console running for an hour or two. This power brick served its purpose admirably. That is, until my cat discovered it. My cat can't get enough of these things, so they must be made with cat nip in the wires! Regardless, you did a fantastic job, and the end result was fantastic.
The same power supply brick (obviously from a different brand) can be purchased for $49. 00 at Gamestop. Crazy. You can get one for under $25 on Amazon, and it's 100% genuine! I received mine in two days and plugged it into my Xbox One, and presto! Power! My old power brick supply was no longer working, so I tossed it out. It's good to know that you can get a replacement power supply for your Xbox One (original) for less than $25 and in a matter of days:.
A few months ago, I purchased this. For the first 100 hours or so of play time, everything was fine, but then the fan developed a fault and is now the noisiest thing I own, and I have a two-year-old. Loud to the point of being unusable.
It performs as expected. It looks almost identical to the original out of the box, with the exception that the cords appear to be a little flimsier, but that's nothing to be concerned about. Fits perfectly into my original Xbox One console, with the exception that the cords are slightly shorter than the originals that came with the console. I know everyone is concerned about the fan, and I can assure you that there is one, but it is barely audible. It is a little louder than the original, but only slightly.
