I have been using it for months and it still works great
5/5

During the craze of arcade sticks, it was nearly impossible to find one like this back in April '09. Though I would have preferred the tournament edition, I found this listing on Amazon and decided to buy I am very happy with how it has turned out. It is likely that most people are looking at this as a controller for Street Fighter or a similar game. With no issues, I've played a fairly high number of matches on this stick over the past several months, and I recommend it highly. As soon as I realized that I needed a stick for playing charge characters, I became interested in switching to one. There is something like this to describe Bison, Blanca, Chun and Guile, characters whose movements are more or less charge back 2 seconds then charge To begin with, the directional pad of a traditional controller isn't very suited to motion controls for charge motions. Furthermore, a newbie who wants to learn how to use charge characters can sit on one of the I believe there is a lot of back charging going on. There is a square gate on this stick, so that the motion of the stick follows the boundaries of its corners. As there's a corner there to tuck into, it makes it extremely easy to charge back up and down at the same time. When you have excellent reflexes and precise judgment then you can respond to directional inputs quickly by pushing the stick just far enough to trigger the response. Advanced players do not rely on the corners in the gate for inputs because you get quicker motion by pressing just far enough to trigger the response. However, for a brand-newbie, it is impossible to square the circle Using gated stick to learn to play these charge characters is a life-saver. In the case of rolling- While some people prefer to use the analog stick on their regular xbox controllers for motion characters such as Ryu or Ken, others may prefer to use the D-pad Pad (If you grew up playing SF2 on the Super Nintendo, you should be able to Gamesticks are the easiest way to learn the game. The minimum number of buttons required by Street Fighter is six I punched three times and kicked three times. I am an 8-year-old With this stick, you can, if you wish, assign some function to the two black buttons just to the right of the trigger that would not be on an As an example of how you might set it up, all three kicks or all three punches could be set at the same time if you had issues hitting all three at the same time to trigger your I found that to be awkward. Even though I am a player who regularly shifts hand positions in Rock Band / Guitar Hero, I just found it easier to press the black buttons simultaneously than use my pinky to press them. 4 ) For the last step In button fighting games such as BlazBlue or 3D games (such as Soul Caliber, DoA, etc. ) you'll probably use the three white top buttons, right and left control buttons, and the middle button. On the bottom row, the most white button is on the right. It's great for playing fighting games with this stick with the right setup, I've played a bunch with it and found its button layout to be excellent for them all. There is a turbo function you can assign to any button, but it is not something that serious players will use. The reason it's not unfair is due to the fact that your input in a game like this needs to be precise. The fact that you can hit the buttons too quickly and repeatedly when you need to makes turbo unnecessary, even for things like Blanka's electricity and Furthermore, if you carry a turbocharger you'll be able to You end up handicapping yourself anyway if you are going into moves like that because you aren't using the more specific inputs you'd need to combo into them. Turbo doesn't seem to me to be an important feature of fighting games, especially for anyone who is not very experienced. It's said that the buttons themselves are the weak link in this setup, but they can be changed easily if you need to. My buttons have all held up well, and they are all working.

I think the stick needs to be broken in a bit. If you are just getting acquainted with it, you will probably notice that after the stick returns to neutral your character is still moving as if you were inputting a direction for a split second. The issue was resolved within an hour of playing the game. There is some learning curve with sticks, not just in terms of inputting commands, but also in terms of positioning it properly. When I'm playing with my stick on my lap, I find it easy to position it correctly on my lap, but some people might have trouble finding the trick. There is a chance you'll find this stick shifting around on your lap too much and negatively impacting how you play because it's not as wide and heavy as the tournament edition. I bought this stick pretty recently and was able to adapt to it fairly easily, but you may not be able to. If you have a setup like this in front of your TV then that's great, but some people prefer to play their fighting games standing up with the stick perched on some sort of stand. I found the stick manageable regardless, even though that was not an option for me. The stick can either be moved to determine whether it is controlling the normal controller's d-pad or not by moving a switch You can use the left analog stick, right analog stick, or touch pad. In fighting games, it makes no difference, but it allows you to use the stick for games where one or more of those inputs are required for movement. The first time I used it, I tried playing Pac-Man A friend and I played the Wii Sports Championship Edition and found the control to be It should be noted though that the square gate is not well suited for the Pac-Man game You may have more success if you were more practiced with the motions (as Man does not move diagonally) and if you were more experienced in the movement you may have more success. In addition to wired rather than wireless operation, the stick is wired. It is pretty standard for this generation of video game consoles to have wireless capabilities. As the cable is USB-connected, you can even use it for PC gaming if you so desire. But the wire is plenty long for most living room setups, and since the cord uses a USB plug, it can actually be used for PC gaming if necessary. I rate this product as quite highly on a whole. I had hoped it would do exactly what I wanted it to Charge me up and make me a better Street Fighter player Achieve your goals by attacking Even though it has been heavily played for months, it has endured. The stick has obviously been used by others here who have not had as good of an experience as I have, but I can only speak of my own experience, which has been extremely.

If you want to mod it, buy it or you will be disappointed
3/5

As soon as I bought this arcade stick, I heard it was supposed to have problems with the buttons and joystick, so I decided to modify it with new parts instead of using This is the kind of stick that everyone who buys it should replace the parts. It's not really a mod. It's more like a swap, and it only requires you to replace a few parts. It's very easy to do this on the net because there are various videos showing how. The stock parts were replaced with a Red Sanwa JLF Joystick and 8 Red Sanwa snap on buttons in place of the stock parts. Playing with the stick in this way is really the best way to play. Honestly, it's not a lot of money since you can usually buy better sticks for more than $140 and I paid around $80 for the Sanwa parts ($30) and for the SF4 stick ($47) and I strongly think it's The Sanwa or Seimitsui parts can be found on Google and Happ parts will not fit because of My bottom line I honestly do not recommend this arcade stick unless you swap out the parts with good quality ones as they are likely to break just like what other reviewers have already expressed. You need to play something good if you want to get your money's worth Here's the deal My recommendation for a box is either the SF4 Tournament Edition stick or the Hori Real Arcade Pro EX stick. It was your belief that you were.

You get more for more if you spend more
3/5

I really like the arcade stick and it works just fine as soon as you plug it I also found it to be compatible with my PC, so that was a big Based on other reviews (and interactions with friends in the fighting game community), I, however, felt that this would all come crashing down in the end. In the end, I took the risk, and who knows what will happen. As a result, the system crashed. However, when it came to the buttons, the main problem was. The 'Y' button on my computer had become rather unresponsive after a few weeks with it. Several weeks later, I noticed that the 'B' button had done the same thing. Afterwards, I swapped the 'LB' and 'LT' buttons with the 'Y' and 'B', and both buttons (despite now being black) begin to work correctly. The two buttons on the right would, of course, be sacrificed as a result. This leaves me with fewer buttons than I did before. The 6 buttons weren't a problem for me since all you need is six buttons. You'll also find Home and the Start button on the toolbar. What the hell is going on with the 'Back' and 'Start' buttons being on the outside of the box? It is difficult to taunt and pause when this is the case. I would like to share a brief overview of I-*- *- There was a square gate on top of the stick. 360s a hassle at first, but once you get used to it, you don't really notice Due to that, I will not be able to knock down scores. I am - I was unable to use turbo buttons, though they seemed to work well. I am - While I agree that a headset jack is out of place on all arcade sticks with headset jacks, I still find it strange on the controller. I am - Wires can be detached in case a person trips on them, so that the console doesn't fall on them. I have not had a chance to 'test' it out yet (thank the lord). In short, the arcade stick's stock buttons will likely disappear in the near future. In spite of this, the weight is perfect, and it can be easily modified to fully harness its In fact, I know a friend who replaced the blades on his stick with parts from Hori/Sanwa. It was an amazing feeling. The same will be done by me. EDIT

In time, you might have realized that the left stick was frequently having prolonged input after a while. Being unable to move an input like that is something that causes so much frustration. You should buy a better fight stick as a favor to yourself. taking this out of the box and paying to mod and maintain it it just about the same price as a god-game, for example In the form of a.
