Questions & Answers
My use of it is as follows
I have the same model, and I have found it to work well either in 480i or 480p.
In my case, I had the cheap ones, so when I hooked up my 135" projector, my wii clearly wasn't working. Since I switched to these cables, they are basically perfect. So, even though I cannot compare them directly to actual monster cables, I would be willing to say that they are as good or better.
If your television's picture mode doesn't seem to be working, set it up. Changing the picture width should be a simple matter of pressing a button on your remote. The wide zoom option and full pixel are a few options.

It is not possible to make all Wii component cables the same. As a matter of fact, many of the inexpensive cables on the market are beyond bad. The signal of component video can easily be degraded by low-quality materials, poor construction and inadequate or nonexistent shielding because it is analog. The best component cables up until now have been the official Nintendo cables, which used to cost between $30 and $40. The games created by HD Retrovision were even higher in quality than those made by There is a very slight difference, but if you know what you are looking for, it is easily discernible. I found that with OEM cables, there was a very faint yellowing of the picture which these cables removed To be fair, I have invested fairly heavily in my gaming setup to get the best quality possible so I use them through an Open Source Scan Converter which while providing a superior picture will also reveal all the flaws just like high end audio equipment will reveal mistakes. Those are the places where you start to see the difference. this I mean that HDRV cables are different from Nintendo cables. The cheap off brand cables are so bad that they're almost impossible to find blindfolded)
Even if you're not a perfectionist, there is a huge difference between these cables and the others. My family gave me a pair of cheap cables when I bought a used Wii, and they're barely better than composite cables in terms of signal degradation. Therefore, if you are at all concerned about the quality of the image, do not pay for less. They're so reasonably priced that there isn't a good reason to go with anything else other than these cables which are actually better than the official Nintendo cables. Because Nintendo has long since stopped making new cables for the Wii, this really is the only option that you have.
As I'm sure you already know, I must confess Though I was very impressed with HD Retrovision's retro gaming component cables, I was disappointed with the performance of my particular Wii component cable since it brightened (but did not actually sharpen or clean up) the image on my Sony Trinitron CRT. My bed was cold and dark that night as I lay in bed On the following day, I had the idea of connecting my cables to my computer monitor using an OSSC. If you're an uninitiated individual, it's a small box that runs retro games on modern displays with little to no delay. When everything was set up, I was blown away by how crisp it all looked. My preference is to play video games on CRTs, so connecting to a monitor wasn't my first choice. I found the picture to be sharp (but not too sharp), there was no noise in the picture at all and no audio buzz was present. With the exception of a few Wii Component cables, all three issues have become almost commonplace. When viewed on a CRT monitor, the results were even better. The HD Retrovision product, as described in other Amazon reviews as of this writing, has not only enhanced the way people view old games and play them, but also been described as having a high level of build quality and truly highlighting the future of retro gaming (both literally and figuratively). Nick and Ste, if you ever read this (which I know you will) I want you both to know just how much better retro gaming has become as a result of your efforts, and how much thousands of others have enjoyed their retro gaming experience even more thanks to you. Oh, and don't stop drinking Dr. Pepper either.
I had a Wii in my closet that I hadn't used in a while. I've come to enjoy the games I never got to play before. It's no surprise that I've been playing through component cables and a 480p signal because that's the best that the Wii provides. Unfortunately, the cables that I was using were of the Monster brand. When one observed the image closely, one could see a bit of static and the picture periodically faded Clearly this would be a problem if I were playing a game that required fast button presses, movements, or stick movements. The first time I thought it was just the console, I was wrong. I happen to already have the Wii and TV set in a lot of different configurations. As soon as I switched out Wiis and tried TV sets, I realized any cable issue was due to a faulty patch cable. Having to deal with this kind of situation was not an option, so I started investigating.
HD Retrovision once again intervened, and once again, all was well. The reason they were on the market was that they also manufactured Wii component cables. This was, of course, done in response to giving Wii owners the best cables available at a fair price, as opposed to the outdated and expensive genuine cables as well as the unbranded or third party cables that were so cheap and poorly made. It took a little longer than expected for the cables to arrive due to Hurricane Dorian, but they eventually arrived and I installed them with In almost no time at all, we saw results There was not a single moment when the image dropped out. After this, I was able to play Wii games with cables that were superior to the original Wii cables and those from third parties HD Retrovision's component cables would be perfect if you are looking for some cables that are worth having for your Wii or even Wii U system. These cables are light years superior to third party cables, and even better than the original Nintendo component cables. It is wonderful to see HD Retrovision come out with.
I found the video quality to be crisp and sharp, the colors vibrant, and the audio to be free of any noticeable static or buzzing. It is amazing how well Dolby Logic surround sounds on Play GameCube Classics on your Wii the way they were meant to be played! Let the classics look and sound the way they were intended to! Think of what you could save by not buying GameCube Component cables. Please don't worry about getting humiliated by buying one of those HDMI cords for the Wii only to have it display blurry and discolored images. Those who own a Wii or Wii U and are interested in getting the best picture from their GameCube and Wii games deserve a closer look at these cables.
