As far as the box part of the adapter was concerned, it didn't weigh anything. It wasn't there what was supposed to go into that box in order for it to function. I could not get it to work. Several years ago I ordered a new one from a different seller and noticed that the weight was significantly different, which backs up my diagnosis.

The power adapter does not belong to the Nintendo brand I agree that it is a generic no name brand I agree that the transformer box portion feels very light and durable The prices are relatively inexpensive (this is rarely handled so it's not an issue). In addition, there are other important factors to consider The power adapter works just as well as the Nintendo branded power adapter, and for a fraction of the cost. I got a Wii U second hand with no cables at all. It works perfectly with this cable.

It works, but has a cheap feel to it

This is useful, but the blocks are practically empty rather than heavily weighted like in My guess is that it is poorly built. Additionally, the prongs of the outlet don't include the large side, so the prongs don't hold the outlet as securely as they did on In order to avoid damaging it, I unplug it when it's not in use.

Although it is basically an exact replacement for the original, the original cord wasn't the thickest so I would recommend not to pinch it or have it kinked up so that it lasts before being replaced again, so I am not giving it 5 stars.

Charges your Wii U the same way a Wii U charger does. The charger boots up without any problems and was a replacement since we lost our Wii U charger after.
