Yes! My fat psp 3000 charge port broke, so I purchased this along with the replacement part I required to repair my psp. While my replacement part took two weeks to arrive, this psp charger arrived first. When I plugged it in, it charged my battery without a hitch, and I was able to play my psp while waiting for my part, which made me happy. I give this charger a perfect score of ten out of ten.
I haven't tried it because I have a 2004 model, but it should work fine according to the manufacturer's instructions.
This battery charger was one of the masked; the only issue is that it does not charge, which is unfortunate because it does not charge anything- However, this only works with PSP batteries, so if you have aftermarket batteries, you will not be able to use it.

It takes longer to charge a battery than it does to provide service. The benefit of this is that when the battery dies, the PSP simply shuts down without warning. As a result of this, I've lost a few hours of gameplay. Because this is the only PSP battery charger I've found, it's a little slow, but you'll have to put up with it.
The good news is that it can be used with a genuine Sony PSP battery. The bad news is that third-party PSP batteries are notoriously incompatible with it. The truly ugly side is that Sony stopped making their own PSP batteries a long time ago, and the exorbitant price for an official vs. unofficial vs. unofficial vs. unofficial vs. unofficial vs. unofficial vs. unofficial vs. unofficial vs. unofficial vs. unofficial vs. unofficial vs. unofficial vs If you're on a tight budget, you'll find less and less use for this as third-party batteries become more widely available. If you're a health-conscious gamer, or if you don't have a lot of genuine Sony batteries on hand, this is the option for you.
I purchased this with the expectation that it would have prongs that could easily connect to a wall socket, making it portable and easy to transport; however, you must attach a long cord to the bottom of the unit and then plug it into the wall. br>br>it takes about 2 hours to complete. Like the ac adapter, it takes 3 hours to charge from 0 bars. br>br>The good thing about this unit is that I can play uninterrupted while my second battery is charging. br>br>Although the presence of a cord negates the device's portability, I am satisfied with its overall utility in allowing me to play without interruption. br>br>I tried charging a non-sony battery with this charger and it would not charge, and the orange light on the charger would blink, indicating that it would not charge, so be careful with non-sony batteries.
The cord plugs into the AC adapter/charger that comes with the PSP, so it's not a hassle to pack if you're going on vacation. It is a genuine Sony product, not a knockoff from an OEM. 99% of the batteries found here are cheapo knock offs but this appears to charge those as well as well as well as well as well as well as well as well By pressing the top tab, the battery is securely locked into the charger and can be easily removed.
It fails to perform the function for which it was created. Coming from Amazon, it's a pity.
Requires PSP AC Adapter, which is not included, according to the description. br>However, an AC adapter is not required. You will receive a power outlet cable and will be able to charge your PSP outside of the console.
It appears to be authentic and of high quality, but it does not accept generic batteries.
Plug it in the same way I used to. This one has an extension chord, which is nice because it gives me options when I travel that I didn't have before, but it also comes with the risk of dragging another chord around with me, which I despise. br>br>Quickly charges both my standard and extended batteries. At this price, this is a great unit.
