When I found the PSP on the side of the road, I purchased this battery for it. Also, I bought the charger through the exact seller and waited about a week and a half to receive my item. Xbr>Xbr>When I received it through the mail, I was excited to see that it had been worth the wait. There's no such thing as a cheap battery, it actually costs more than the battery itself. Although it fits the PSP battery slot, it makes some noise when putting the battery cover over the slot, but once it is fully seated, the battery is slightly loose, causing the game to shut off abruptly. My first thought was that the problem lay with my Replacement Housing or the PSP hardware in general, so I went to Gamestop to buy a battery kit for $20 plus tax. This way, I can simply pop a package in without any hassle into the shoe box of my dresser (whom I never shop from due to outrageous prices) and it works nicely. My battery died away in the middle of the usage, and the charger I bought from the seller (who I will not mention here) wouldn't hold a charge. That will be discussed in In conclusion, we ask you to keep this battery away from all sources. My bargain-buying tendencies have been put to the test by this, and I'm rethinking my purchases with a lot more clarity. As the battery has been reported that it isn't even able to hold a charge as long as the original Sony Battery, so purchase an Official Sony brand, or even the Extended Version for $20 at a local Gamestop or wherever store in your area. Sending it back to receive your refund isn't worth the wait, the money, or even the hassle that you would have to endure. This is a terrible product. 1/5 stars (I'd rate it ZERO if I could) Please take this review into account, I was skeptical at first, but I can tell you it's the truth.

It was not completely defective (therefore two stars instead of one), but it quits out halfway through its assigned life. Since the PSP can't tell that the battery is almost dead, it is unable to put the PSP into standby mode, instead simply shutting down. In spite of those problems, the battery does last for one or two hours, so if you're desperate and know the battery can die at any time, this battery may be a good choice.

There is no way to play any games on my PSP1001 without the charging cable, because the battery is not capable of keeping a charge for more than 15 minutes. The shopping cart is filled with garbage, don't buy, and mine went The charger was plugged in for one hour, five hours, and overnight, during which time it was charging. A second try revealed that it appeared to work initially, but the PSP randomly rebooted every five minutes regardless of what was being done mechanically or through the game.

I bought this because the factory battery had a short lifespan, but it worked at least. I threw it away and put the original battery back in, and now everything has worked The manufacturer won't give me a rebate, so I won't waste time chasing them.
