I recently dug out my PSP 3000 Slim, only to discover that the battery was no longer charging. As I looked for a replacement on Amazon, I quickly learned that Sony no longer makes replacement batteries, and that almost all of the third-party batteries available are worthless garbage. br>br>I chose MPF Products as my replacement because a) the reviews were positive and b) it was shipped from the United States. The battery was delivered in five days and has performed admirably thus far. br>br>I was also concerned that other replacement batteries would be too large to fit into the PSP's original battery cover, based on reviews. Some even come with a bulging replacement battery cover to accommodate the larger battery size. br>br>With this battery, however, this was not the case. Although it is a slightly tighter fit than the original Sony battery, I was able to easily snap the PSP's original battery cover over it. Overall, this is likely the best PSP replacement battery available right now. The battery's longevity will be determined over time, but I'm happy with my purchase thus far.

At first, I thought this battery was fantastic; I received it and charged it completely. On a full charge, I noticed that the PSP lasted a very long time. The second charge was the same and I thought I had a true winner here, but during the third discharge cycle it completely died at around 72% and would never charge again and Because this thing only lasted three charge cycles, I contacted the seller to see if they would honor the one-year warranty. Also, keep an eye on the brand. My battery is a Cameron Sino with a CS on the back, and other sellers are charging significantly less for the same battery, as well as referring to this brand as a generic off-brand. battery with a name on it I believe that for the price of 16 dollars shipped, the seller MPF Products should honor this as a replacement. The seller's review is still pending, and it will be entirely dependent on how they handle the situation. While this is going on, I'll be looking for a new battery, and this one did fit nicely in a PSP 3001, but it appears to be hit-or-miss.

On a PSP Brite (3000), you can play for up to 8 hours. br>br>Unfortunately, the MCU in the battery, like most 3rd party batteries, will crash if USB charging is used, and the battery will not be usable again until the MCU is reset. To reset the MCU, remove the battery and open it. There is a circuit board inside, and to reset the MCU, you must short the G and R pads. br>By disabling USB charging in the system settings, you can completely avoid this problem. I'm not docking a star for it because it's such a minor issue.

We've all learned that the PSP's batteries can only hold a charge for a certain amount of time. If you own a PSP, however, this is something you're willing to overlook/overcome because, well, you want to play games, and the PSP's library still contains some excellent titles. Which means it's a pain when your battery dies and the only way to use it properly is to keep it plugged in all the time. It's also unfortunate that so many other replacements for specific PSP models are somewhat niche. Then there's this tiny child! Not only does it work as a suitable battery replacement, but it also comes at a reasonable price, is portable, and works well on my PSP. My only complaint is that, as previously stated, it can only hold a charge for a limited amount of time (which isn't a big deal because you'll still get a lot of playtime out of it, and I had this complaint with my old battery before it died). Regardless, it's still a great product in great condition, and you can bet I'll order it again if I ever need another replacement.

I purchased a few of these batteries for my PSP and have found them to be quite good so far. They hold a charge for a while, though not as long as the original Sony battery (they top out at 3 hours with low brightness, whereas the Sony branded battery used to last up to 5 hours). br>br>They appear to be sturdy and well-made; If they are trustworthy, only time will tell.
