With and without silicone covers, my kids use it both ways. Charges with the cover removed can be faster however, if the covers are too thick, they should be removed
The length of time it takes depends on how many batteries are used I have put two on one battery cell or less and it took over 1 1/2 hours I can imagine it would take less if you do it directly to a
I plug mine into the USB port on the front of my PS4 so that it can be powered via micro USB
This charging station seems impossible to me, it's built as high as it is. Having a protection clip on the controller protects it from overcharge, overheating, and so on. When it charges up to 100%, the charger will not charge it, it is working as I needed it to

Despite having 2 months' worth of battery life, my controllers only lasted 2 months. Submitted on October 10th and received on the 12th. This is unbelievable. I am very disappointed I can't afford to buy it (.
I've never found a charger I liked better.
I like this a lot!.
It's great to use it and it looks good too.
A design that is unique. The MicroUSB port is typically used on charging docks, and so they mount the DS4 upside down, which I always thought was kind of odd. Look at how much more professional this is. It charges significantly faster than a traditional power bank. All at the moment it is doing is pushing 5 volts and establishing the USB handshake, the process that the controllers need to begin A missed opportunity to install screws on the bottom for vertical display by not having mounting holes on the bottom. It might be possible to use mounting tape or add them myself. I was disappointed with the lack of a charger, especially considering the 2 amps of power required, but if you have an old cellphone charger lying around, it'll work just fine. I used a five year old charger and it worked fine. This is a very positive development for us. That I have a place to store my controllers while they charge at the same time is great.
I really don't know what else to say. In this case, the device works as it should. It has never been a problem for me to slide controllers into place, the controllers are always charged when they come off the charger, and the pin connection has never inevitably broken off. The troubles with pins breaking have only been described in other reviews that I have read. You would probably have to slam the controllers into the base so hard you could not move them. My son has a PS4 in his room I expect to buy another charging base for me in his bedroom since I use the current base in our gameroom/office where I usually play. All in all, I have not encountered a single problem with the charging base. Please note Since the charges are applied from the bottom, I like that this is not a top-down approach. By doing so, I can prevent the USB port from getting worn out in the case that I hardwire the controller to the PS4 to help with latency in FPS games. In this way, we can keep the USB port firmly in place and save the USB port on the controller.
We have had no problems using this charger with our PS4. I was able to hook it up without any problems. Taking up little space, it is very easy to transport. I have both Sony brand controllers and knock off brand controllers, and they have all charged seamlessly. In the past, we've had an issue with other chargers initially working and then not. With this charger, it's worked correctly from the beginning. As a whole, we are very pleased with this performance so far and would recommend it.
