There are US, PAL and Japanese versions that all play both PAL and NTSC games, which also includes NTSC-compatible games. As a result of my old one not read my discs anymore (either by not seeing them any more or telling me I had put in a PS1 disc that wasn't a PS1 disc), I bought this one. As a cute little beast, this little plaything was able to detect not only the discs I inserted, but even the discs my previous player had trouble understanding.
Because it came with the hookups and power supply, I found it very convenient. I was not able to open a game correctly when I tried to play it. There is one other reason I could think of why it didn't work. The only component spinning the disc could be the cause. I ended up seeing the startup screen, then the memory card screen. The problem wasn't with the laser assembly, it actually worked fine once I replaced the lens assembly, however I had to spend another $30 on repairs (I didn't want to deal with shipping it as the screen I had already attached to the back of this console was already attached to a trailer.
Despite the fact that this is the original version and not the pictured version, this still works wonderfully. I suggest changing the picture to match what is being advertised. In spite of this, the cleanliness and quality of this product make it impossible for me to downgrade a single star, and I would have bought both versions. Quite pleased with it!.
In my pictures, the PSone was “Like New” with the controller, memory card, and wires (after I refurbished it myself). I did not receive the pristine console pictured in the seller's description, but rather a stained console with a broken disc tray, buttons that were broken, and a console that was beat up There is an out-of-date controller that won't even work, and a memory card that looks as if it has been stained to death. The power cable and the AV cable were never delivered to me. It's not like I lost money, but it was definitely a false advertisement. kept the controllers and memory cards from my earlier gray PS1, but I was severely disappointed when I received the new PS1. Even now, I find it hard to believe someone thought this controller was fine, even though it had been damaged so much.
We were not expecting it to look brand new since it was used. It was a pain to find a way to keep the top down so her games would play. As soon as that was done, everything was fine. Pay a bit more if you buy used, and go for items that appear to be like new.
I think it's a great little device! Because the slots are identical to the ones on your original Playstation controller, any memory cards you used to use with it will also work here.
Currently, only the console is supported. I did not receive the controller, power cord, or a/v with the console. In order to use the controller, I had to purchase the cords I'm extremely disappointed that none of that information is contained within the description, and the description also mentions it comes with one remote control.
It was just a cut on the cord near the body of the PlayStation controller that caused the problem. I barely cut any wires or cut any connections in the controller to keep it from getting worse. I just have to wrap some tape around the device to prevent it from getting worse. Therefore, I removed a star since that's going to look tacky. I am generally satisfied with my experience.
