As far as I am aware, I have not encountered such an issue.
I have no idea how it came in its own box, but it came in a sturdy MX518 box I received earlier this month. There is probably more weight in the packaging than in I like this mouse very much. As long as it lasts half as long as the original, it will be perfect.

I have never used a better mouse. My favorite aspect of gaming with this mouse is the accuracy and how well it fits my hand. You can play just about any game, whether it's an FPS or world of warcraft. As this is an older style, it is more difficult To make sure I have backups in case something goes wrong, I purchased four of these. I use a garbage can that has been in place more than 8 years. One of my cats chewed on it. I still find this to be a good product. It would be highly recommended.
One of the first computers I built was with an MX518 back in 2006. I used to be able to fit it perfectly in my hand. It didn't take much time to find a button layout that felt natural to me. Compared to the new version I purchased back in 2006, the new version feels and fits the same in my hand. 15 years of games, schoolwork, and "boredom" were all perfectly fine with that mouse. I hope this new one is as durable or even more durable than the last one. The only difference I can see (aside from the design and greater accuracy) is the left and right click buttons are a little louder and stiffer than the old ones.
This item is okay, as are many other Logitech items I use, but I don't consider it outstanding. First of all, let me say I have rather tiny hands for a 6 foot tall person. The male is tall and his fingers are stubby. However, I don't know about you, but I've had difficulty finding a mouse that works well for me for a very long time. This has to be my favorite one. I've used it since I was a kid. I liked it a lot. I could easily hold it in my hand. The only problem is that they no longer produce it. Anyhow, this mouse has a long protruding butt on the side that causes it to rotate counterclockwise in my grip, causing the left trigger to be too far to the left than I would like it to be. The result is. . When I left click, I have to extend my stubby pointer finger over to reach the left trigger because my pointer finger rests on the mouse wheel. My two cents here may not make a lot of sense to all, but this is what I think. I have enjoyed everything else about it. I find the device to be responsive, not too expensive, and that the Logitech Hub software - which I do not personally need - is compatible with it.
During my 30-plus years of computer usage, I don't even come close to counting the number of mice I've used. My mouse of choice is the one that came with the PCs we had at home and at work until 2007. It was necessary (and I wanted) to get a second PC by 2007. The wife and daughter did not have a problem with their Dell desktop and HP laptop, so I built a desktop for myself using an Eclipse II lighted keyboard and an My favorite mouse and keyboard were that pair. Over the years, I have done some upgrades, but in 2013, a power surge caused the motherboard to fry, and I had to re-build it. While I was still using the Eclipse keyboard, I found that the 518 was getting a bit hit & miss There will be no time to catch up When I replaced the original 518, it was a G400s, but that was junk, and it wore out quickly. In the end, I managed to get my 518 out of storage, cleaned it up to the best of my ability, and enjoyed it for a while longer. As a result of a rebuild, I retired my old 518 in late 2019. The left button of my $60+ Corsair M65 mouse, which did not last a year, was useless after a year on an inexpensive Redragon mouse. So I bought this Although I would have preferred if Logitech had brought back the silver, dented look of the old model, the shape has always been perfect for my hand. As for the Eclipse II keyboard, I finally gave it up after 11 years to get The experience was never a regret. My favorite is the K556 even more than I love.
The MX518 gaming mouse has been in my possession for around 15 years, and I love The unit had to be replaced once during that time period, but it was the same exact model every time. It is the same model as the old one, only there are some small cosmetic changes. I recently bought another one for a second computer, believing it to be the same. I instantly realized the mouse was a cheap knockoff of the old model as soon as I received it. As opposed to the new model, which feels flimsy and unsubstantial in the hand, the old model feels nice and solid. While I have no issues with the performance or function of the new model, I'm not a fan of the way the new model feels.
This product is one that I have purchased a couple of times (two initially and one more recently). Many people have made videos online about how to fix switches when they malfunction. The containers may not be hermetically sealed, and the corrosion-resistant materials could not be used Gold is a conductor that is resistant (such as copper). About two years after they are bought, the Chinese switches stop working. In the beginning, I bought two monitors, one of which saw very heavy use and the other with very little use. In fact, both of them failed about at the same time.
If you're going to spend more than $100 on a gaming mouse, make sure that it does not have any.
My attention was immediately drawn to the fact that its mouse pad was missing as soon as I opened the box. On the $5, this type of QC issue does not occur. The kind of mouse you get at the big box store costs $. 00. Considering this mouse is marketed as a gaming mouse, I expected more.
In my experience, Logitech mice have been my go-to mouse for most of my life. I started with MX510s and ended up with an MX518, and I've used them for more than a decade. In addition to being excited to hear about the relaunch of the MX518, I promptly ordered it after learning about it. When I started using it, I was pretty disappointed to say the least. The sensor is just plain awful. The grip and weight are just fine, but the sensor is just a mess. This thing is way too inaccurate for me. I can barely lift the mouse off the mat without it going haywire. My 12 year old MX510 still is way more accurate than whatever it There's no real difference between the MX518 and the MX518, it's just repackaged garbage in a new package. I am disappointed.
