Questions & Answers

Can these cables be used instead of the original PS3 component ?

Cables manufactured by Sony are slightly longer than those made by other manufacturers. PS3 variant (SCPH-1000) has a 10ft cord, while 10100 has an 8ft cord HD Retrovision cabling is 6ft, but by using our own 6ft extension cables, it is possible to extend it all the way up to 30ft without a degradation in Due to the fact that HD Retrovision cables use true 75 ohm coaxial cable, and OEM Sony cables use generic shielded cables with undefined impedances, the HD Retrovision cables provide objectively higher performance. It is important to keep in mind that the visual effect that results from this depends on the resolution at which you're running the console. Simply put, the situation is as follows If you stick your face up to the screen at an angle of roughly 45 degrees, you will not see any difference between 240p/480i/480p content or even 720p/1080i, but you will probably see a difference with 1080p video

If these are restocked, what date will they be available?

I have no idea. They are probably popular, so most likely yes

How does HD retrovision provide a solution to the PS1?

The Genesis 2 component cable and PS1 adapter cable are included, but not the Genesis 2 playback

Do you think this yields a much better image than the PS2 hdmi adapter. Are there any?

In this regard, I have never used a PS2 HDMI cable. In my research into how to the best to increase the quality of the picture on my PS2, this HD Retrovision component cable came up as the best option. I found that an HD converter could produce a slightly better result with an OSSC or Framemeister, but only if I bought an OSSC or Framemeister. I regret to inform you that both of the above options cost $150+. Despite even cheaper options, it seems they don't do a great job of upscaling, or they are introducing noticeable input lags. Using this HD retrovision, I found my PS2's picture quality to improve significantly and the lag was not introduced.

There is nothing like this on the planet

If you like The reason I bought this cable was that I had dug my old PS2 slim out of the closet to reinstall Obtain Dragonquest 8 by playing the game. There is an old Vizio 1080p HDTV with component, and it is set up as follows Currently it supports video, composite, RGB over VGA, and HDMI inputs. I've discovered recently that it has some issues with 240p signals over component, but I've also got a PS3 that can automatically upscale and process my Playstation 1 games over HDMI. The video I was hoping for was the best possible picture for the analog 480i signal from the PS2, into my crusty old tv. I wanted this without using a digital converter or upscaler. My wishes were met, and I got The last time I played Dragonquest 8 was on an old, rusty multi-game console Combo of composite/s-type consoles The video cable came from when the PS2 plugged into a consumer TV. I was taking the cable out of the TV as I was taking the cable out of the PS2 By stretching my TV's deinterlaced picture, and using my TV's deinterlace, I am able to view my video. It's true that the signal from video is more clear than the signal from composite, but the quality of this old cable cannot be overstated. A composite with a bad shield and a My PS2 was hooked up by a wire no thicker than the power cable, and 4 different rusty connectors connected to the video. I don't know what to do. When I maxed out the sharpness setting on my display, objects far from the camera appeared muddy and I could see them pop in. When compared to that old setup, this THICC cable is a world of difference. It is well shielded and has a much higher signal strength. There is a great deal of energy in the colors. In fact, I had to turn off the automatic backlight adjustment to stop the image from dimming. As you can see from the wider aspect ratio, the image is so sharp that I have to slightly reduce the sharpness setting to soften the interlacing jaggies. There is almost too much crispiness in this photo. During my tests with Dragonquest, I noticed that it looks just stunning, especially while flying with the Godbird Soulstone. A pop will be heard in the distance The noisy scene in front of me caused me to see Despite the video being nonexistent, I can still see the far-away terrain gradually fade in the manner it should be on the last screen. The terrain and town details appear to be incredibly detailed, and the tiny godbird shadow is very clear and sharp over the entire color landscape. It seems that the smaller detailed objects, such as grass and fast moving objects, such as the bushwhacher jumping outside Tryan Gully, are interlacing errors that I cannot reproduce with a component signal of higher quality. The ps2 logo appears on screen with some interlacing errors when the console is attempting to boot up. Occasionally there was some deinterlacing error with effects like Guile's sonic boom, and a mild screen tear when the opening character made its pass, but that could be because my old TV isn't up to the job. Having tested it with Metal Gear Solid 3, Zone of the Enders 2, Soul Reaver 2, and a few others, I can say that the polygonal graphics are all stunningly crisp and without interlace problems. A preview of the opening ceremony The FMV and gameplay of Soul Reaver 2 are absolutely stunning and look as if they were designed to every detail. There is just something awesome about the particle effects and polygonal objects in the Kojima games, especially in ZOE. The image does not appear to have dithering or interlaced elements. While I played a few of these games, DragonQuest 8 was what I played the most and it's a great reason to get it. As opposed to some of the other games I named, this one never had an HD port, so without an external upconverter, it looks as good as it could on actual hardware using a Component Cable. I love the look of it. As a result of my purchase, I am very pleased. As an analog source, I would be very happy with this cable even if I used an external digital converter. In the current setup, the image quality is very good with my old 1080p vizio with legacy inputs. My only concern is that the price isn't super low, but the quality is well worth it, as I looked into buying used official, monster, and other high quality third party cables from the era, and they are neither cheaper nor better. HD Retrovision's PS2/3 cable seems like a good choice regardless of whether you're playing PS2/3 games on a TV with legacy inputs or a digital upscaler. All that said, you may want to consider a different cable for the PS1 game. The PS2 won't be able to run PS1 games unless your display can handle 240p over component, so you might not be able to play most PS1 games with it. Though the PS3's built-in digital upscaling is a good choice for PlayStation 1 games, it probably comes out better than the PS2's hardware emulation and analog output, which is restricted to 240p graphics and high-resolution textures on the PS3 can even be smoothed out thanks to texture smoothing, as well as being stretched or played You certainly should consider this cable if you'd like to send a high quality analog signal from your PS2 so that your games will look as good as possible.

The best component cables on the planet are for the PlayStation 2

There is no alternative to HD Retrovision. Gradius V looks amazing on my PS2 -- I have never seen anything like it. As usual, HD Retrovision produces great cables and amazing quality

I previously purchased Sega Genesis cables with Saturn adapters and was amazed at how good it sounded when I I urge you not to It takes a lot of time and energy to set up HD Retrovision, but it is worth it and is of the very best quality.

For PlayStation 2 users and PlayStation 3 owners alike, this video cable is a must-have
5/5

A friend of mine and I bought this as a gift for her PlayStation 2 console. She had been using the bog standard composite video from it. It would have been ideal if I had a component cable, but it was way too expensive, and I also wanted to steer clear of the lower-quality cables due to their poor A bright eye caught my attention when I came across HD Retrovision. Their component cables were at the top of the game. These products are not only expensive, but have a reputation for being of high quality as well. Since it was exactly what I was looking for, I did not hesitate to purchase it. Upon arrival, I was able to install the cable with no trouble. I plugged the cables into the ports, and there was a drastic improvement in the video quality. In addition to showing how games could be run in 1080i resolution, I also demonstrated how to build homebrew software. I was impressed, as well, by the improvement in video quality, and I also found the build of the cable to be top-notch.

Overall, this is a great accessory for anyone with a PS2 system or a Compared to other cable options, the price-quality ratio fits just right, and will give your system a much-needed visual boost.

You have come to the right place for the best PS2 cables! In the past few months, I bought a Sony Playstation 2 to relive all the amazing games I played as a teen
5/5

A few months ago, I found these HD Retrovision component cables while surfing the web I ordered it because of the good reviews I had read. When I first hooked up my PS2, I was worried that the graphics were too old to run There is a 75" Sony 4K HDTV in my home On the other hand, this runs off of these cables and it looks absolutely fantastic. This is a good deal for what you get, and the build quality is excellent. There is no way to adequately express how stunning a console from 2001 looks on a screen that is as large and modern as today's. games look far better than they did back in the day thanks to the clear clarity. I plugged my PS2 into my video card using the standard cables that came with the console, and compared the picture to that, it was less detailed, more blurry, and did not look The bottom line is that, if you have a modern, HDTV and want to play your PlayStation 2 using the best picture quality possible, you have to buy I would like to thank all the reviewers who inspired me to go down this path! I have attached two photos, one showing what Grand Theft Auto 3 looks like, and the other is a screenshot of We are caught up in the The TV in question is my 75" Sony 4K HD Retrovision is awesome! Thanks so much!.

HD TVs benefit from enhanced picture quality with this! Exceptionally clear, crisp audio and video without a trace of noise! *br>*br>If you have plans for connecting your PS2 to a modern HDTV that supports component input, this cable is a must have! I cannot recommend it highly enough
5/5

For the last few days, I have hooked up my PS2 slim to my LG 4K smart TV to play some old PS1 and PS2 In addition to upgrading the video quality to better than that of the standard composite cables, I also wanted to enhance the audio quality. My eyes were stunned by the improvement this made in the picture quality. I was particularly impressed with the legibility of the text on screen. A little bit of research reveals that you can get the same results using component input without purchasing expensive and tedious equipment. So don't spend your money on an HDMI adapter if you already have component input. There is no doubt that HD Retrovision is the top retro gaming experts out there! Here's a tip The video I was receiving was only black and white, so at first I thought something was wrong with the cable. It turned out that I had to fiddle with the TV's settings and make sure that it was set up to receive component signals. It wasn't obvious to me how to do it (it wasn't obvious to me). Upon figuring that out, I was up and running in no time! You may need to play around with your settings before throwing away your cable if you are experiencing the same issue!.
