Questions & Answers

Do you know if this works on Xbox One?

There is only chat support on Xbox One. All other headsets sound worse than the one that comes with the Xbox. Neither the PS4 nor the Xbox One are much better. The headset should be used only with the 360 or Ps3, not with any systems currently in use.

Do you have cables connected to the controller or headset when you play or chat on your PS4? Can only cables be used between a console and transmitter?

This is supposed to work via an optical cable that runs from the PS4 out to a Turtle Beach transmitter that is paired to the Turtle Beach headset via Bluetooth. Audio should be transmitted by the transmitter to the headset once the devices have been paired. The majority of people make the error of trying to pair a headset directly with a PS4, which is not possible. In the present situation, my PS4 controller does not require an adapter to plug in my headset. Because I've been having trouble getting it to work wirelessly that way for 30 minutes, I don't know how it happened, but now I have it working.

Is there a meaning behind the BLKN?

The part of the model number is probably just the part I don't remember.

A good product with good quality, but not the best available for audiophiles
4/5

It's my specialty to write software and to design electrical systems. In the hope of replacing my ATH-M40x headphones, I got these headphones to listen to classical music and for conferencing with my development team A studio monitor with a resolution of 40fs. In order to make the audio as close to that of a live performance as possible, I place great importance on audio quality. A general rule of thumb, I will not want my headphones to color my sound in any way. In the beginning, I found the phones to be a little disappointing. However, with my own adjustments, I am finding the phones The M40fs aren't replacing them, though they sound great, and they provide a lot of convenience and freedom. This section includes Music of high quality. Please note that the default is for your audio to be heavily processed so that it focuses There is a lot less bass when this is activated. You should switch to game 1 or chat 1 audio profiles, which have flat frequency response to enjoy the best sound quality. The PX51 will switch over from A2DP to the Headset protocol if you are on Bluetooth and begin using the microphone. Headset protocols are designed for telephony rather than music, so they are not compatible with There are a few short beeps when it switches Bluetooth modes. Using the microphone while maintaining high-quality audio is possible if you have your computer's audio file sent to the transmitter, and Bluetooth is used as the audio input, as shown in the following diagram Please reinstall your PC if it does not work. TELUS lowers its price by 9% A PC which uses the PX51

I suggest you use this cable only as a last resort. Since I do not have any game consoles, I could not test the XBox Chat ### Performance at close range
I found that the transmitter included in the kit gave me the best experience at close range, less than 10ft. This DSP offers finer adjustment of the headphone dynamics, and it is free of dropped samples that I could detect.

Bluetooth A2DP with my MacBook Pro and my iPhone 6 very occasionally drops a sample, audible as a Close range, it's not as good as the base station, but the next part is excellent. ## Performance over long distance
Moving about 20ft away and putting a few walls between Bluetooth and the wall turned the odds in its In the beginning, the machine dropped more samples, but recovered in a matter of As far as my music was concerned, I heard every word I said, and I did not miss a beat. I had to wait too long once I was back within range of the transmitter once it dropped out completely. Your device looks quite nice in the picture. However, the included transmitter dropped out for seconds at a time. *In nutshell, use the transmitter if you are close, and use Bluetooth if you are far away. Having wireless access is a great convenience. Now is a good time to praise it. Previously, I had an extension cord attached to my M40fs, and I always worried about it being tangled or knocked over when I rolled over it. There will be no This is such a wonderful feeling! You've done an amazing job! # Phone call connection
Bluetooth cell phone pairing works flawlessly. With this set, once I paired my iPhone with it, all I had to do was press the button on one of the headphones and answer the call! Now there is no need to dig through your pockets or purses to find it! It is as simple as pressing the button again to end the call. Take a moment to relax. My headphones were still on when I walked into the store! A mute switch automatically turned on the music. At the end of the call, my music switched back to music again and the microphone muted again. This is what I mean. Does heaven exist? There was a Bluetooth signal, but it was not quite as loud as I could have hoped. ## Chat
Other buttons controlled the volume. A small part of the music is interrupted by the beeps for audible feedback from Bluetooth. It was too short for them to miss any beats, but they were very short. As well as a 0-level, there is also a 14-level An electronic circuit for monitoring the delay of microphones. On the front of the left earcup is a volume control. There is a button on the right earcup that can be used to mute the microphone, which is a little strange, but works well. If the microphone is not in use You hear rising beeps when it's muted, and falling beeps when it's muted. While it's blocking other audio, you will miss a word or a bit of music during this time. # Main (game) audio controls. *While we're talking volume, the PX51 also grants me a volume control for the signal from the included transmitter, found behind the left earcup. The fact that this pot is not in the audio path, but instead is connected to the processor, means that there are no scraping noises or It may click a few times if you move it really fast, but that's about As long as it doesn't interfere with your audio, you are good to go. On the left earcup, you can switch between profiles using the other buttons. It has a dedicated button to switch to the "Main profile", as well as buttons 3) Windows has customizable chat profiles and game profiles. Creating profiles is easy - you can select which to focus on, on voice, on volume compression, and many other features. In the same way as I mentioned above, I prefer a flat, unaltered frequency response, so I chose chat preset 1 and game preset 1. This was done by connecting my MacBook Pro via optical link to the included transmitter, to which I made the comments from here on. When listening to some orchestral music, I noticed that the bass was noticeably quieter on the PX51s than on the ATH- I couldn't place the differences. Model 40FS. Despite very slight improvements in treble, it was still murky. A little bit of bass is actually known to be present in ATH headphones This result got a little better on the PX51 since it is heavy. As the clarinets and oboes played, I started noticing the subtle clicking of the keys. I was surprised by the quality, since most games are heavy on explosions and bass, and my biggest concern was a volume that was too loud. A heavy load. As a result, I found the PX51 to exhibit better high frequency response, or as audiophiles might put it, the cans were more analytical. Although I heard less bass in the cellos and timpani than I did in the funk, I still thought there was a slight lack of bass. In my case, I opened Parallels (there is no Mac version of the ASE) and put in some manual bass boost. I set a linear ramp on the equalizer from +0 to +3dB starting at 220Hz and going down. By doing this, the bass section managed to be clear and unmuddy without overdriving. It's important to note that if you want the most control over the DSP, you must utilize the transmitter and not Bluetooth. The 5-star rating does indeed apply to you The Bluetooth transmitter gives you 12 frequency bands to choose from when it comes to equalizing Bluetooth audio. It is possible to notice a very small amount of white noise, regardless of the volume setting of the headphones. In volume, it was similar to the white noise coming from the headphone output on my Kenwood VR-100 There is only one headphone jack on the 6050 surround receiver (the speaker outputs are great, but it lacks This is evident as I have built my own headphone amplifier, which does not generate any audible white noise. Despite the white noise, it is easy to ignore it and just listen to the music. I'm a picky person, so most people probably won't care about it. ### LF sine wavesAfter the listening test, I tried playing some In my experience, there is no frequency response below 25 Hz. A quiet, but distinct sound is first heard at 25Hz. 30Hz is discernable, but the worst is a huge booming sound at 35Hz, resulting in unpleasant mechanical noise. this point, the sound quietens down until it is at normal volume by 50Hz. The test was pretty rigorous, and it does not reflect what real users experience. I am disappointed, however, not to see response in the ultra low frequency band. It is these frequencies that add a lot of richness to classical music, and I think when people refer to headphones as having a "tight bass," they are referring to this frequency band, from 25 to 45 kHz The subsonic range is 30Hz and below. However, many people can only hear sounds down to 35Hz. Since most people cannot hear lower than that, this may not bother the cans probably roar like that at 35Hz because of this In this phase, the guys at Turtle Beach who designed and calibrated these phones probably wanted the volume to be boosted in order to ensure that all frequencies are up to their hearing. I like it a lot for others, but I don't like it so much for myself. (When I tested my hearing, I found that I could clearly detect frequencies down to at least 10Hz and barely It is more a result of my equipment than of my senses that I have a lower limit. In the low 10Hz range, it feels more like a throb than a sound, and I can start to perceive it as a sound at around 15Hz. In comparison to the sound of 20kHz, I feel constant pressure on my ears rather than Yet I am still able to tell when the sound is faded in or 19kHz marks the point at which high-frequency sounds become more audible. The Virtual Barbershop was used to test this. When I used the PX51, it was hard to tell whether something was in front of me or behind me, and sounds that should have sounded close in my ear sounded far off. In comparison, the M40fs did much better with sound imaging within two inches of my ears on both sides and clearly differentiating the front and back sounds. I could also tell how far away sounds were when they were in front of me and in the background, instead of only being able to tell how far they were when they were to my left or right. When I discovered that the surround modes were designed for gaming rather than music, I decided that these should be ignored. As a result, I felt like the sound was moved in front of me, which was probably to compensate for the lack of a front speaker As I mentioned earlier, there is depth at the back of the room. As a result, classical music heard like it was coming from another room. The back of the concert hall also seemed to reflect echoes forward and over the front row. The result was a music that was flatter than usual and less immersive, even distorted, as if playing through a hallway. It might be best to use the surround modes in simpler games where you need to locate an enemy sniper, and for small bands in an acoustically-oriented game. There are dead recording studios, but I haven't tested them because they don't match my use case. As an alternative to overpowering the problem with acoustic processing, I think the best option would be to start with better acoustics. ## Indicators ## Power ## The power button on the left ear flashes blue as long as the headphones are on. As annoying as it is, I wish that there were a way to turn this feature There is a blue steady LED on the base station to signify that the connection is working. On the bottom of the right earcup there is a red charge LED next to the USB mini (not micro) port. A charged version turns off after a few minutes. Having the light on the stand is not visible to me, so I would prefer that it be placed in a more prominent place. ## Link
On the right earcup, there is a small blue/red LED that indicates the source of audio. Whenever it is connected to the transmitter, the color is blue, and if it is connected via Bluetooth, it is magenta (both the red and * The base station is also equipped with a blue link light that signifies whether or not digital audio is detected via the Adding Dolby Digital surround to the optical signal turns on an additional blue light. It is a great wireless headset, which is exactly what we expected from the PX51. There is a great deal of enjoyment to be had with these, and that is crucial. There are some complaints I would like to make. On both earcups, the bright and flashing blue lights were a little overbearing for my taste, and dimmer lights or a more subtle breathing light pattern would have been better. Having white noise as a problem may cause headaches in the future, so I hope this is sorted out Besides, cutting out all the low frequencies below 25Hz is a significant problem for audiophiles. There are probably some issues that gamers would like to see fixed as well. There were a number of things that they got There is optical audio built into them, which I love. Congratulations, you've done a great job! It's great to be able to connect your console and phone simultaneously using Bluetooth. There is good balance between the drivers used by Turtle Beach, which means the bass is not overdriven. My laptop is getting a sticker from them. I am very impressed by the features of the software and the The cherry on top is this. As for the actual cake, it is getting better drivers and ear cups from the very beginning rather than having to fix them later. I want to be clear there is nothing wrong with the acoustics, but they are Like everyone else, Turtle Beach does not overdrive the bass in the PX51. I applaud it for that. That's not permission for the LFE (Low Frequency Effects) to be cut out. Also, even when it comes to gaming, the oblong soundstage is a major flaw. There is some post-processing to help with this, but it is a band-aid.

Ultimately, I would rate this as The comfort level is good, but not exceptional, and the sound can be described as good for gaming headphones but not quite audiophile level. I believe overall it would be a good choice for most users interested in using.

TV watching has never been easier with this headset
4/5

The first thing I want to say is that I am neither a gamer nor will I ever be one. I am not reviewing Turtle Beach's PX51 headsets from the perspective of a gamer. However, I had been looking for a good headset to watch TV with for a while. When looking at the price range from $75 to $100 In my research of headsets made for TV watching that are priced at this level, I found many reviewers who complained about how good they weren't. The reviewers were not only unhappy with the high levels of static and the quality, but were simply dissatisfied with the experience. Although I had originally thought about a Bluetooth solution, I was concerned with the latency these headsets have. It is not clear how the audio on TV matches the lip movement on video. I highly recommend this The price is great and the value is excellent as well. Turtle Beach's Elite 800's would have been a better option, but they are priced at $300, and I found them too expensive to be useful. What gives four stars to the rating? The documentation for Turtle Beach is missing, it's missing big time. Having the PX51 run for six minutes without being touched is supposed to turn it off The lights are often left on after they have been used, but they do not turn off on their own. The firmware on my computer has been updated. I'm still not having any The Turtle Beach user manual and support website both did not have instructions on how to turn off the headset manually. I searched the web, including Turtle Beach's user manual, for help. Even so, I decided to give it a try by holding down the power button for a while, about 15 seconds, and it turned my headset off. It is my obligation as a customer to ask, "Would it be too much to include this in your user manual?"? Several quirks on this headset are not documented, and we don't know how to correct them. In that regard, although the PX51s are excellent value for money, if you want something that just works out of the box and you're not big on fiddling with stuff, then you probably won't be happy with this headset. But if you are someone like me who is willing to try new things, the PX51's are a great choice. Thanks to the Movie Mode and the eight game modes you have, you can listen to TV on very low volume and still understand what is being said.
