Questions & Answers

In the PS4 settings, the headset says that it is a DTS headphone X headset but it uses Dolby. It doesn't make any sense to me at all. Is there a reason why it cannot decode DTS?

The Dolby decoders we used on the headset were not available when we made it and we had to use DTS decoding instead. Decoding the Dolby Digital output into 5 uncompressed streams of audio is done by the DSP. Afterward, we run the uncompressed audio through the DTS encoding This may seem contrary to what you expect I know how frustrating it is to set the PS4 to Dolby, but you can trust me that The step is simply one of many to complete.

Could these work with Xbox 360 if I have the adapter to use them with the chat feature?

Yes, without a doubt! The headset is not documented on TB's website or in any of the bundled instructions, but I have tested it on my X360 and it works as advertised. It should be noted that I tested this on an Xbox 360 Elite. In this case, you may have to adjust the settings based on the model of the X360. By connecting the base/transmitter via optical cable and configuring the output for Dobly 5, you'll be able to create a wireless network. This will require the use of Chat communication requires a 5mm) cable If you wish to use a headset, be sure that you set the game's preferences

Is it possible to control the audio volume separately for game audio and chat audio on the headset? Is there only one ear cup available for a chat? Through one cup or both?

The answer is yes. There is a way to do it. You can hear each cup's volume separately and change its level as desired , but there is a separate volume control for each cup.

How does one set this headset up on a PC Could you please tell me where the 5 mm jack is located?

Ideally, you should be able to watch it with your computer's optical output. With the base for Elite 800 connected to two of my USB 3 ports, I was able to use the Elite 800. This port is not available. Make sure you connect the optical out from your comp to the optical in on the base of the Elite 800 since the base has an optical out as well. Be sure to plug one of the cables into the charging port on the Elite 800 and the other into the +Program Only* port on the base. Next, I selected the Manage audio devices option from Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Sound, then Turtle Beach as my playback device. As a Windows 8 user, I have the following computer specs This is labeled Digital Output 1 in the output panel. The Elite 800 is okay if you use the AT4040 instead of the Elite 800 but if you use the AT4040, you can change your recording options on your PC to make use of the Elite 800 instead

I advise you not to buy
3/5

It is strongly recommended this headset not be purchased and to go with something else, such as a The headset has had SO MANY issues that it is impossible to mention them all, but here are a few of those major ones that made me give it a one-star rating. Among the following price is way too high for these headphones. These headphones are priced significantly higher than the Astro A50 headphones, which are known as the highest end gaming headphones on the market, and because of that reason they deserve to be so expensive. In the case of these however, as they were simply defective and did not work, they would be priced at around $100. Added to 2 When they disconnect with just about every shut-down of the PS4, they will drive you nuts. Each time I put my PS4 Pro into rest mode, my bluetooth headset disconnected from the dock and hasn't been paired since then. There has to be no other engineering blunder as dumb as this! The bottom line is that every time you switch off your PS4 or at least put it into rest mode, you will need to go into the PS4 settings and move everything around so IF you manage to pair the headset within 15 minutes, you will be able to hear everything generated by 3.

In light of the previous issue, I find myself in this position. Creating a partnership. As simple as it sounds, IT DOES NOT Right now, I am trying to pair my headset with my computer and it is refusing to do so. Even though I have followed the turtle beach website, the manual, and even people's online posts about this issue, all have failed to resolve the problem. I've hard rebooted this headset about 100 times during the 6 months I've owned it, so if that doesn't provide a hint as to how poorly the product's functionality testing was done, I don't know Because of this reason alone, you should stay away from this headset. Four points Quality is the key to success. The headphones I bought were just short of $300, and they are of much lesser quality than my friend's $25 Amazon Metal is not present in these. Even the chrome piece that is there as decoration is just painted chrome Also very good about it is the low cost of the plastic used. I'm talking about something you can get from a bottle of pop. I am baffled at how they are still intact without cracking or breaking. say that the exact same thing happened Similarly, the buttons on the sides randomly press themselves and when you're trying to muffle your microphone, all of a sudden your audio settings change into something that sounds terrible. Here are five One word embarrassing. That is how I would describe customer service. I saw a great deal of improvement in the amount of response time. The communication was terrible as well. The gentleman heard me barely and barely spoke English. The second person I spoke with didn't even know what an LED was. This is why I am summarizing the issue as embarrassing.

PLEASE do whatever you can to make these devices your last resort when you need a "highend" gaming headset.

Sound quality is the best I have ever heard, but material is the worst I have ever heard
3/5

After at least six years of buying online, this is the first time I've written up a bas review, and I must say that after years of using this brand, I opted for this headset and I probably won't buy anymore turttle beach products. I still have my XP510, even though the left earcup holder is broken, but the good news is that they will work for many years to come. As I mentioned in my previous post, this headset broke a second time since I got it 20march2018, and I kind of got frustrated. The headset has great sound quality, but the material is so crapy that I don't understand how that could be possible. It is really necessary they fix the design on the buttons, as they press with any reflex or willing movement on the couch, or reach for something just a little bit. I recommend that you guys do not waste your time or money on this junky materials headset until the manufacturer makes some changes or reinforces it fully. I think they should take this thing off the market if they don't. Its way too expensive to continue to break like that. My first reaction was to reject the prognosis when I read other commentary about this matter. The same mistake should not be repeated. The specifications of the headset I just bought ensure that I won't be dissapointed. I just purchased another more expensive headset, but I'm not worried. need to pay a lot of attention to the materials this kind of headset is constructed from before you buy it if you want your investment to make sense in the long run.

Hope this helps you make a decision.

The quality is terrible, and the price is outrageous
3/5

Having three pairs of a Elite 800 headset is a great experience for me. When I bought my first pair six years ago, they were flawless and lasted for five years before literally falling apart in short order. It looked like the new sets were trash when they came There were terrible sound quality issues, sound drops, static, mic drops, or no mic function at all, and I was unable to fix any of the issues. There were a variety of boot loader modes, firmware updates, multi-PlayStation 4s, USB and even optical cables that I tried, and neither worked. I also contacted Turtle Beach support with no success. In my experience, Turtle Beach is useless and even rude if you need customer service, which is why I switched brands. I would recommend that you avoid this brand at all costs as they do not contain quality in There is no way they could offer you the same quality for less money (even on sale).
