The positive reviews convinced me to buy these PC headsets to replace some of my other ones that were no longer working the boom mic no longer stayed in place. Even without Dolby Digital, it was able to simulate directional sounds fairly well without it. I was also surprised by the bass, but I didn't get the same sensation that I have with other headsets. I couldn't pin it down, but I think there was more treble than I'm used to, or maybe a tinny sound. you're using it with a console and don't have a large collection of high-end sets, this would be a good choice used a pair of Turtle Beach's for my Xbox, and they did the job fine, but this pair of Turtle Beach's didn't quite satisfy my PC gaming needs.

Although I was pondering whether to give this a 4 or 5 star rating, my decision was made. Playing with this headset on my PS3 and PS4 is also very convenient. The process is the same for both devices. To begin with, I tested it by playing a few games and watching videos. When I played Mortal Kombat, the surround sound came in great, but the volume wasn't as high as I expected, even though everything was turned up to the maximum. Actually that was just during the cut scenes. When it came to the actual gameplay, it cranked! However, I first realized that was just one game out of many. The sound quality is awesome in Call of Duty Black Ops II as well as Call of Duty Ghost. Oh, and the dual digital surround sound is awesome in FPS games. The number of times I've turned around for something I thought was behind me, only to realize it was in the game, I can't even count. It's also a great way to watch bluray videos. The cons are It seems like there are some issues, even though they don't really detract from the overall rating of a 5 star. Getting things set up can be rather tedious. The optical cable AND the USB cable are connected via a long freakin Even with no screen, it can be challenging to find an equalizer setting and surround sound setup that suits you perfectly. Just keep pushing the 2 settings buttons until you find the right sound for you. I have also noticed that even though I usually keep the surround sound setting the same, the equalizer settings vary depending on whether I am watching a movie or playing Neither it nor its settings can be saved. Nevertheless, I ordered it without a care in the world if it was a virtual one It is unclear whether the surround is actually working. I have four children A lower star rating is more likely to reflect a lower quality I'd rather- There is no outstanding (but good) audio quality from the headphone speakers themselves, or from the amp that drives However, they're not as good as the sound I get from these speakers.
