Since I'm not a big gamer, I only bought the mic to play Risk with my Hooking up the headset was simple, I simply plugged it into the PS3 with the supplied USB cable, updated my PS settings so that it would use the USB headset, and I was ready The sound quality is good, even though I have nothing to compare it to, but I can clearly hear the players. Besides the volume control, there is a control box on the cord which lets you mute, mute all players, and mute all music. This cable is long enough to sit comfortably without worrying that it will pull out of the port. The wired design can be bothersome when you need to reach something out farther than 15ft from the PlayStation, but all in all, this is a good buy that will fit my needs perfectly. To casual gamers who are looking for a cheap headset, I recommend this. A number of updates have been made to the website. 16 July 2011 was the date of purchase. Toward the end of August 2012, the mute button stopped working. During the last week of December 2012, the headset stopped working. that there is a wiring issue on the inside, and people are no longer able to hear me. Overall, for an $23 headset, it has held up well after 1 year and 5 months of regular use on three days a week. With the cost of the device going down, I may purchase another one.
With only costing about $20, it is a decent deal, but with the one I received you were not able to really move the mic. A moron, I tried spinning the mic around a bunch of times in order to fix it, and that caused it to ruin all the cords inside. The damn thing is gone for good. I used it for GTA online a lot before that and it worked great. There were a few occasions when people struggled to hear me very well, and the corded nature meant there was always the chance of a worn cord, but it still worked. I would recommend spending the extra $10 to get With the cord being hidden, there is a lot less hassle throughout your house and the cord is less unsightly. In addition, you can keep it on when you leave your living room to go to the bathroom.
To replace an old Bluetooth headset that I had been having issues with when I was playing on my PlayStation 3, I got this. It appeared that this would be the right solution, but after getting my hands on it, I realized that I had replaced the problem with a whole new set of issues. It doesn't have to be fancy, I just want it to work. It does work, however, the volume is so low that I am unable to hear it. The pros include I like the way it looks in the package. The cons are When you select mute all, the only way to make it go away is to unplug the device and plug it back into the computer. This is an extremely low volume. You can hardly hear what people have to say. This headphones does not fit well, and it is difficult to get it adjusted properly to protect your ears and allow you to hear a little volume. It is very likely that I will return it, but I will play with it for a while longer to be sure that it's not just the group I was playing with.
I thought the headset was not that bad at first. It worked well for a day or two, but eventually the foam wind guard broke, which was no big deal for me. Several days later, though, the Mute All button broke off for no apparent reason and fell out. I was not too concerned, as I never used that button I turned on the PS3 last night, and the headset worked for a few minutes, then I heard a popping sound and then nothing, the green light on the volume control pulsed every time it pulsed, and the headphones popped into my ears. After disconnecting and reconnecting the game, switching off the PS3 and doing all the standard troubleshooting processes, still only pulsing and popping are heard. I can't even get it to recognize it on the PS3. After trying numerous headsets, I ended up choosing the Sony licensed headset, which has been much more reliable.
The same headset I bought in a discount bin at a grocery store about 5 or more years ago is still in perfect condition. I lasted up until recently with a headset I bought for ten dollars. This headset has very good sound quality. My friends with whom I play say that I sound better with this headset than with my current Sony gaming headset. Purchased this headset and I'm looking forward to the same kind of use as I had with my previous one. It is not cheaply made to say the least, but some people are underestimating how well this headset is made. The last headset I owned was of the same brand and had nothing physically break physically nor any wear to the plastic, the microphone just stopped picking up sound which I put down to age. I would buy it again once my current headset breaks in another 5 years if they still carry it.
As for the sound quality of the ear piece, that is no better than what you might get for $10. Mics are not very sensitive, so they do pick up normal speech. However, eating a bag of chips is not a problem. There are 2 LEDs that run through the control box, so it does get warm when it is switched on. On the PS3, the MUTE button works great, but the Mute All button does not. The control box sits backward to where I am seated. This is just a personal annoyance. In this case, the leds face The rest of the time, I just wear it around my neck as a MIC. I use my headphone speakers to listen to TV.
The headset is cheap, but as the price states, it speaks for itself. What you pay for, it works as expected, the cable is long, so if you sit close to the television like you would at your desk as you would if you were at your computer, you should wrap it There is no difference in sound quality between this and those cheap earbuds you get at 99 cent stores. You might find this more suitable if you wanted to save some money instead of spending hundreds of dollars on headsets.
It arrived in mint condition, and as soon as I plugged it in, the light lit, though I did not hear any sound. For a while, I didn't understand why it wasn't working, but I eventually discovered that I had to change the system audio settings to output to my headset rather than the on-screen speakers. Despite the lightness and simplicity, it's surprisingly sturdy, and my 2 year old has torn it and tossed it around without damaging it. The Volume button, the Mutes button, and all the audio mute buttons. The price is excellent and the process is simple.
