Yes, the interface is held to the headset by magnets.
That's exactly what I've got.
With the thin pad, you should get a slightly wider field of view. It comes with two, the thicker of which is about the same size as stock, so there isn't much of a difference there. br>Because everyone's FOV is a little different, I can't give exact numbers, and I've never compared mine to a test app because it was better and I didn't care about exact numbers.
The thicker of the two included pads is the same thickness as the original, and the frame appears to be a fraction of an inch closer than the original.

HP's facial interface is too narrow for my face, causing pain in my cheekbones, sinuses, and temples. The problem was solved after I bought this. 100% more attractive than the previous version of.
However, the vast majority of people enjoy them. So, my situation is pretty unique, so I don't think the main complaint will apply to the majority of people, but I got prescription inserts for my headset, specifically widmo vr inserts, and they work great. The edges of the prescriptions jam into the undersides of my eyebrows/tops of my eye sockets if the headset isn't in the right position because of the shape of my face and eyebrow area. I thought the stock facial interface would be a pain, but compared to the standard vr cover foam replacement, the stock insert is fantastic. The vr covers are too soft and lack the firmness needed to keep the headset at the proper distance from my eyes. I set it away from my eyes to prevent the prescriptions from rubbing against my skin. It would move around a lot, and even if I got it to feel good, I'd feel the prescriptions poking into my skin a few minutes later. After using this replacement foam, I'm much more appreciative of how well the original stock foam performs. br>br>Another issue separate from that is that, while these do not absorb oils or sweat from your skin and are easier to clean, the design is not at all breathable. I noticed that when I used this new foam, my eyes became tired much faster than when I used the original. This could be due to the previously mentioned issue, but I believe it's also due to the fact that it traps the same air inside the headset where your eyes are, possibly making that area warmer, and oxygen touching your eyes is a key component to keeping them healthy and comfortable. This is why your eyes may feel tired if you wear certain types of contact lenses for an extended period of time, such as if you wear the same pair for several days without taking them out; your eyeballs are deprived of oxygen, which they require to function normally. I have no idea if this is true; I'm not a scientist, so I have no idea, but it's one of the only explanations that comes to mind. br>br>these are widely popular, and most people seem to like them, so if you don't have the same issues I do with prescription inserts rubbing against your skin or if the headset is in the wrong position on your face with the stock interface, you probably have nothing to lose by ordering them and seeing if they work, which they almost certainly will since the overwhelming majority of people seem to like them. br>br>One good thing about them is that if you have long hair, it keeps your hair out of the interface, which is annoying. The stock interface does not provide the same level of security, allowing your hair to creep into your eye area, tickle your skin, and irritate you. These, on the other hand, created a really nice seal and I'd never had that before, so if you have long hair and this is a problem for you, these should help. br>br>I'm thinking about ordering a silicone cover for the stock interface to see how it works out. At this point, I believe that's my only other option for preventing the stock fabric foam from becoming smelly and gross.
It's simple to set up and gives you a larger field of view. Plus, the material is easily wiped off and does not absorb sweat, which makes it a LOT less gross if you have other people playing with you.

With the slim one, you can also get a wider field of view.
