A quick look at the quality lets you know it is indeed genuine (despite the labels identifying it as an import from China). I found that the control is completely smooth, uniform in all directions, and has no play compared to any generic brand or knockoff I have seen (including what I saw in some branded controllers I have Although sanwa isn't responsible for the performance, I would still be satisfied with it, regardless of it being made by other companies.
