Overall, I am satisfied with this charger. br>br>THE GOOD: The Joy- The slot is perfect for the Con controllers. It's simple to set up, and the USB connection is convenient. If you unplug the C cable from the base, it can also be used to charge the pro controller. A USB cable can also be plugged into the Switch's dock to charge the device while it is in sleep mode. The front of the charger has red and green indicator lights that indicate whether or not it is charging. THE BAD: br>br> While the controllers fit snugly, it was difficult to tell if they were fully seated. Simply ensure that they are pushed all the way down into the slot. LEDs are also available. The unit's front-panel indicator lights are difficult to see. To see them clearly, you must stand in front of it and look down. OVERALL: br>br> This one is a little easier to use than the slide-in charging stations because it fits four Joy-Chargers. It fits in snugly and has a lower profile than similar items. The Nintendo Switch now has a new addition.
Because of the poor build quality, I'm only giving it four stars. br>br>Take note of the red and green lights in my photos. It's almost impossible to tell if it's charged unless you're right on top of it.
This is an excellent charging station. My Switch was plugged into the back. (This is in contrast to a wall outlet. ) ) This is an excellent option because the Switch will detect the dock, as well as the JoyCons and their status. (When I put a JoyCon in the dock, I can see on the Switch that it is charging and the percentage of charge remaining. ) ) I like how this dock doesn't require the JoyCons to "snap in" like the screen does, which reduces the risk of a JoyCon's little plastic holding tabs breaking. (Because the Switch has a known issue. ) ) The dock is also well-balanced, so it sits comfortably when JoyCons are removed. br>br>My only minor quibble is that the LED status lights on the dock's front could be brighter.
Coming straight from the Wii. We knew that the Wiimotes' ability to run out of power was the biggest roadblock to family gaming. We had a charging station for them, but you had to swap out the batteries, and getting them all to charge was a bit of a pain. In essence, only one child could get all four in and charged. This Switch charger is far superior to the previous model. Activate the Joy- Put the cons in, make sure they're all the way down, and then let them charge. So, if you take a break from a game to get a snack, you'll have some extra time to charge all of your Joy-Cons. Cons that aren't a pain to deal with. Because it's so simple, I've recommended it to several families who recently purchased a Switch.
This was given to me by my wife. I had no prior knowledge of it and would not have given it a second thought had I not purchased it. I connected its USB power cord to one of the USB ports on the Switch dock and placed it next to it. It's worked out well, and charging and using the Joy-Con is now a breeze. Cons are a little bit more straightforward. It takes a few seconds less than sliding them on and much less time than removing them from the Switch (one at a time, one hand holding the Switch down, the other pressing the release and pulling out).
Make sure you have the right power supply! This charging station is perfect for my four joycons! Simply plug it into the inside dock USB port, which provides more power than the charger requires, or use another 5V 1A power source (not a regular USB port. ) Most regular USB ports can only provide 0. 5A. br>br>Overall, I am satisfied with the product. I like that the USB cable is included and separate from the dock, just in case you need a longer one. If you look down on the charger, the LEDs aren't visible. This is preferable because it eliminates another obtrusive light on the TV stand while still allowing me to see which controllers are charged when I reach for them.
NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. Following the instructions, I'm returning immediately.
We didn't buy a charging dock when we bought our switch and four remotes, but as soon as we got it set up, we realized we needed one. We didn't want our younger children, in particular, to accidentally damage the switch by attempting to put on or remove the remotes from it. In addition, instead of charging all four remotes at once, we were only able to charge two of them at a time. This charging dock was ordered and has performed admirably; it is small, takes up little space, and is simple to use. The fully charged control is indicated by a light. I would strongly advise!.
