This charger has a smaller gauge of wire connecting to the USB C header than the charger that originally came with it. My switch charger came with the technical information smeared and blurred, whereas this one does not.

It came with my brand new Nintendo Switch which I intend to use with this AC adapter. Occasionally, I like to sit in my living room chair to play in handheld mode for more than 3 hours, so I searched on Amazon for a Switch charging cable. I can charge the Switch by placing it in the dock, but I prefer to play in handheld mode in my living room chair. Initially I noticed other charging cables that were a little cheaper, but I looked deeper and found that those cables didn't provide nearly as much power as this one. It was claimed that other ones couldn't charge the Switch while it was docked, but I tested it and it does charge the Switch when playing games on the docked docked in full 1080p. As a result, I recommend buying this Nintendo Switch AC adapter since it has more power and is the official brand. I found it to be just the right length at 5 feet, and it wasn't lacking in any way.
