I'll have to look into it, but I believe you should be able to do it.
It will not light up if there are no joy cons on the station, or if you unplug it from the charger.
No, if the cases obstruct the rails; however, if the joystick rails obstruct the rails, yes. You should be fine as long as the cons are unblocked; the controllers are only charged for about an inch and a half of the bottom rails.

Surprisingly, my family has been raving about this. I only wanted a place for the Switch controllers to sit so they didn't end up on the couch, but it turned out to be a lot more. The lights are far brighter than they could have been, and the corner becomes a glowing work of red and green art. It was also quite inexpensive, so kudos to the manufacturer for making something both enjoyable and affordable, as well as one that simply does the job. You'll have to go out and purchase one. Now is the time. That's how good it is.
As you can see from the photos, this charging dock is compatible with standard Joycon controllers, but it may not be compatible with other controller types. I own two original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) consoles. Wireless controllers of this style (official Nintendo, not third-party) will not fit in the charger. Apart from that, it's a fantastic product.
br>br>Because I am not an "everyday" gamer, this charger is adequate for my controllers. I did notice that it charges slowly, so when we have guests over to play games with us, we have to make sure the controllers are fully charged before we begin. br>br>The device is red when the controllers are charging and green when they are fully charged. However, even when no controllers are present, the green lights remain illuminated. It irritates me to no end. Because the light is so bright, if I want to watch TV, I unplug the device! br>br>However, for the price, I don't mind unplugging it when it's not in use, and being able to charge four Joycons at once is extremely convenient. You can also charge the controllers in either direction (it doesn't appear to matter which way they face). br>br>I would certainly recommend this product to my friends, but I believe I will buy something else in the future. It's a low-cost option that works well.
Eye- even catching up Charges at the fastest possible rate and is extremely energy efficient. Overall, it was a fantastic pleasure. charging a device Rather than having to use the switch itself, this is a much better option. It does not come with a charger. only a USB-compatible computer A to USB- C cord (If you think it's too short, even the cheapest charge-cord will suffice. ) The only thing that will suffice is cables - Look for bargains at a dollar store or a big-box store in your neighborhood. box). br>br>I ran some current draw tests on a few different chargers: PD, 5- QC amps and 1. amp. It's fine to go higher than this, but it won't help things move along faster. If you charge it for less than this, it will take longer to charge (cheap chargers that are poorly designed may overload). It only takes a few minutes to connect the switch and the controllers. We bought extra controllers because I have a lot of kids and charging them one at a time takes forever because you can only charge two at a time and it's slow. As a result, I decided to purchase it. It's fantastic! When the controllers are charging, the lights turn red, and when they're finished, the lights turn green. Every night, we simply plug in the controllers.
The product performs as expected, and I haven't noticed any negative side effects from charging joycons on this rather than the Switch itself. Nintendo made a huge mistake by not including a good way to charge multiple sets of joycons, which this fixes. The product has held up well against small children putting on and taking off the joycons; however, if I had one complaint, it should be easier to catch the joycon on the little lip that holds and charges it. I've noticed that the kids occasionally fumble with getting the groove on the joycon to fit perfectly into the charger.
