Charging Dock Compatible with Switch Joy Cons Controllers, [Add to Dock] Portable Desktop Charging Station Stand with Extended USB Port - Black/Red

I purchased this charger as well as a slightly more expensive stand-alone dock for two pairs of left/right switch controllers. That one is sturdy and long-lasting, whereas with this one, I have to be careful every time I want to charge a controller because it only holds the controller at the bottom and the connection is a little finicky. I bought the Switch primarily to play with my nieces, who aren't particularly fond of furniture, controllers, or consoles. br>br>Having said that, I haven't had this one for very long and can't speak to its long-term durability. It has the advantages of being a nice-looking charger, being reasonably priced, and taking up less space than a separate standing charger. I'm not sure if the designer reads the reviews, but it would be better if the charger had another leg or two that fit over the switch console jack to support it so you didn't have to hold it up with one hand while connecting a controller. Also, instead of being at the bottom of the console, make the charging bay's slide locks go all the way up the console.

This charging dock does exactly what it says it will do: it charges the controllers. The problem I came across is that 3rd party controllers do not fit 100% and you have to jam them in. This is due to the fact that many third-party controllers have ergonomic bump-in controls. Where the originals are flat, there are outs. Because they don't go in and out easily, the entire dock moves a lot with the 3rd party controls, as the OE dock is only connected by a USB plug on the side. Overall, this is a good charging dock, and if you're using it with third-party controllers, just remember to keep one hand on the dock while the other removes the controller.

but. Great idea for a product! It does exactly what it's supposed to do. My only issue is that when I remove the joystick, I have to remove the joystick as well. Cons of the product: I have to secure the product because the side with the 1"x1" adhesive patch will separate from the switch base. When this happens, it feels as if you're about to break the product, so be careful not to pull too hard when removing the joystick. cons.

It does the job (the colors and design are appealing), but it isn't firmly attached to the switch. There is room for improvement in the design. br>It's held together on the switch dock by a flimsy sticker that sticks to the dock on the other end and a USB plug in. After plugging it in, I began to notice the lights blinking at random intervals every few days or so. Because I believe it was permanently frying my USB port, I unplugged it from the dock and now use it as needed.

It works fine, but I'm not a fan of the adhesive tape. br>I needed 3M double-sided tape, which I had to purchase. I used double-sided foam tape, and it worked perfectly! It's a little difficult to get the joycons into the charger, but it's possible.

It, on the other hand, does not wish to be stuck. The one I got isn't gapped correctly and doesn't fit snugly against the dock. Because of the angle, the adhesive only lasted a short time; we don't move the dock very often, so it's not a big deal; however, if it had fit perfectly, I would have given 5 stars.

This is a fantastic product that is simple to set up and use. I do wish it had something to stabilize the side opposite the plug, because the controllers are very tight in the slots, and removing them could cause the unit to break. It'll serve you well if you treat it with care. However, you'll have a hard time persuading your kids to do so. Maybe some velcro or double-sided tape will do the trick.
