My intention was to buy it for this purpose, but I ended up being disappointed instead. The walking foot (it's called a quilting foot by Janome) can be used to feed leather evenly, but it offers little control over the results, and not as much as a walking foot leather machine. It will sew leather, but don't expect good results. In this case, it would be okay for the seam to be hidden.
To the best of my knowledge, not at this time.
In addition to black, they also sell it in white.
Metal is used on the interior frame, but plastic is used on the outer body.

To test it, I stitched through 14 layers of Jean material without problem, now I am sewing vinyl and foam to upholster my 1980 El Camino with the same success.
The heavy duty nature of this machine is evident! The stitch is consistent and I am impressed. There is a Janeyandnell in my company. Handbags made in the U. S. are available at com. It is great to be able to stitch fabric to leather stitching all in one project. The machine will not skip a stitch or lose its stitch quality no matter how thin the material or how thick the leather is. To keep my stitch tight, I maintain a thread tension of slightly more than 4. Lastly, I use universal thread to enable me to use all materials at the same time. For leather, I do not need a thicker thread due to the quality of the machine. I am amazed at the value of this machine! A lot of other feet and gadgets that will help you sew all types of products. In addition to my Juki, I have an embroidery machine. My primary reason for shopping for this machine is the consistent stitch quality. The needles I use are rarely changed as well. It is the same universal needle that came with the machine that I have used for many projects and thicknesses. My recommendation for those who are working on cloth or leather quality projects is this machine. I'm sure it will be a work horse for a long time!.
I can't wait to start making all my new and future quilts with it! I have never experienced a jam, the needle is always threaded, no broken needles, and I could do quilt piecing, quilting, quilt binding, or three or four layers of thick flannel without issue and I am very happy with my purchase! I can enjoy my craft again after being away for so long! A big thank you to you, Jude!.
It's my second Janome HD3000 and I love it! Leather purses were made using this method. -I wish that it would work on thicker leather Having to shave the edges prior to sewing is a necessity.
My preferred fabric craft machine is a mechanical one without all the bells and whistles. A maximum of eight layers of fabric and batting can be easily handled by this machine.
We have been extremely pleased with the performance of this machine. The pros are The on-board bobbin winder works really well! *Automatic Threader*On Board Bobbin Winder (that actually works! It unwinds smoothly * Addition of a vertical spool pin (so you don't have to unwind the thread )
*ALL THE FEED DOGS! Thread the machine to wind a new bobbin. They are so plentiful that you can almost let go and still stick to the project's schedule! *There is an onboard stitch selector guide with presser foot recommendations**A simple lever to turn on and off the presser feet. You'll want to switch those babies out as soon as possible! The screws no longer need to be screwed into place I like the convenience of making my machine turn off each time (my previous machine was 20 years old, so this was a nice upgrade for me). The multiple layer option is perfect for projects that have multiple layers. It keeps the machine moving smoothly. * It is relatively quiet. * The bobbin drop-in with a clear window gives you a visual cue when the bobbin is close to being It will not happen again! I won't run out of bobbin thread when I need it most. have not used my seam ripper I found this one to be huge)
*It was nicely weighed. The pedal on this machine does not jump around as you press the pedal. A smooth ride. Featuring beautiful zig zag stitches with plenty of stitch width options, as well as a good range of stitch lengths A needle position is not a plus
CONS In order to reset your stitch after a Zig Zag stitch, you must not only move the stitch selector, but also move the Needle position slider to the right (O) symbol and then back to whatever position you need it to be in the future. In the meantime, it will just keep zipping. My first reaction was to think this was weird. It takes me a while to adjust, but I'm getting there. It would be nice if LED lights were As long as I use an additional light on the work table, I do not have any problems. A) Nothing out of the ordinary and not There were a variety of attachments that came with it Those tools that are used The purchase has been great for me, I would highly recommend it.
It is not computerized and I would call it a basic machine for some. It is good to start with the basics. It would be fair to call me a Janome fan since I own other Janome machines. In my opinion, the HD3000 is a reasonable price and should last me a long time.
The bobbin wonder won't thread right bobbins, and it's clearly labeled as such on the box. Four different threads are messily loose and are trying to stitch together. Additionally, the machine starts sewing in place even after the zigzag stitch has been completed.
