Questions & Answers

Would it work if I had a 320GB hard drive from the first generation Xbox and wanted to transfer my data from my 60GB to the 320GB?

Yes, I used this to upgrade my 60GB hard drive to a 120GB hard drive. I'm sure it'd work fine on a 320 as well.

Is it possible to transfer data from a fat Xbox 360 hard drive to a slim Xbox 360 hard drive using this method?

Yes, if you mean fat as in the original.

Is it necessary to transfer data between two Xboxes? I'd like to transfer my games from a 120GB hard drive to a 320GB hard drive. ?

Only one xbox and a transfer cable are required. Install the desired hard drive on your Xbox, then plug your transfer cable into a USB port, then plug your old hard drive into the transfer cable, and your Xbox should prompt you to transfer data.

Is it possible to transfer xbox 360 slim hard drives to a xbox 360 using this cable?

It was a knock-off cable that I ordered from here. off that was only compatible with the original Xbox 360 However, I was able to get a replacement cable from my local Wal-Mart. Mart is compatible with both the original and slim versions of the game. I just used my new cable today, and it worked perfectly; it's also helpful if you can buy a cable that includes detailed instructions on how to transfer in which direction, because there is a specific way to do so. I hope you find this information useful.

It worked perfectly, and there was no need for a CD to go with it
5/5

This helped me transfer data from my old 20GB XBox 360 HD to a new 320GB one. It worked flawlessly, and because the operating system already includes the transfer software, you won't need to use the CD that came with it. The XBox will display a message indicating that the transfer cable has been detected, followed by a question about what you want to do. There are videos on YouTube that walk you through the process. br>br>.

Transfer Adapter that is simple to use
4/5

This could be used a few times to get a feel for the situation. It can be used to copy memory from one 360 hard drive to another. It can also transfer stored memory to the slim, but memory for the 360s cannot be transferred through a slim casing. It is possible to revert to a previous state of affairs. Screw a slim casing into the slim's hard drive, which is identical to the regular 360's hard drive but has a different case cover. If this is done correctly, you should be able to transfer the hard drive memory from one slim to another without difficulty. It's also worth noting that when you switch over to the 360, you won't need a slim hard drive; simply disassemble the original hard drive case and stick it on the bottom of your slim. Slim casing is also available for purchase on the internet. If you already have a good memory, it will save you money. Instructions: br>br> 1. br>br> Connect the original 360 hard drive and casing to the adapter's port.
2. Ensure that the console has a second hard drive and that the USB is connected to the console's port. br>3. Turn on the console and look for a memory transfer prompt. (If none appear, go to system settings and look for the transfer adapter, which you can use to manually select memory transfer. ) Otherwise, unplug it and re-plug it, or turn off the console and restart it while it is plugged in.

I don't believe it was "new
4/5

" NOTE - Only the original Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Elite hard drives can be connected with this data cable. This cable can be used to transfer data from an original Xbox to an Elite hard drive or from an original Xbox/Elite to an Xbox 360 Slim. br>This cable is not compatible with Xbox 360 Slims or newer consoles for data transfer. br>br>As the title of my review implies, I am not convinced the item was "new. " " The Xbox 360 Data Transfer Cable arrived in a plain cardboard box with no Microsoft/Xbox 360 logos on the exterior, which is unusual for anyone who uses a Microsoft and/or Xbox product. An instruction booklet, a CD, and the data cable were all included in the small cardboard box. Aside from that, the cable performed admirably. It took a few tries for my new Xbox 360 to recognize the data on the old hard drive, but after a few restarts, the data transfer began. (By "starts" and "stops," I mean the data would appear on the screen with values, then the values would be zeroed out - I'm not sure what caused this. ) It took about three to four hours to transfer everything, and not everything was transferred due to Digital Rights Licenses. Overall, the Xbox 360 Data Transfer Cable did exactly what it was supposed to do and did it well, despite the fact that it was not brand new in my opinion. Also, the cost is less than ten dollars. It's also not a bad idea to go with the number 00.

It's simple to use and does exactly what it says on the tin
5/5

I followed the instructions to the letter. I was able to transfer all of my data to an Xbox 360 slim by plugging in the original Xbox 360 250GB hard drive. It took about 116 gigabytes of data and took a long time, but it worked flawlessly and the prompts appeared as soon as Asia was connected.

Without having to swap thumb drives, I was able to copy all of the important data
5/5

While replacing a full 120GB drive with a 250GB drive in my old Xbox, I ordered this to make moving the data easier (it does not copy, but it moves the data and deletes the copy on the source drive). It's simple to operate and makes the process go much more smoothly. Simply connect one end to your new (or old) hard drive and the other to any Xbox USB port. It may not recognize it right away, but after a few moments, it will inform you that there is another drive connected and ask if you want to copy to or from it. It transferred my profile, saves, music, pictures, downloads, and other files from my old 120GB hard drive to my newer 250GB hard drive. It will not, however, copy the game files that have been installed. These must be reinstalled on the new drive; is it possible that this is due to a DRM issue? Are the installations only compatible with the machine on which they were installed? It took me just under two hours to transfer about 60 GB of profiles, demos, downloadable content, and other files to the new HD.

It is easy to use
5/5

I had the original Xbox 360 and had just purchased the newest Xbox 360 slim (glossy black) and needed a way to transfer the files over, and this has to be one of the easiest data transfers I've ever done with this device. So I placed an order for this item, and I was up and transferring in no time. br>br>To begin, remove your old Xbox harddrive from the console. br>Plug the old harddrive into the data cable and plug the USB end into your new Xboxbr>Turn on your new Xbox, and it will automatically detect the cable and give you three optionsbr>Choose your option and press "Start"br>And BOOM, you're donebr>br>And now, I'm going to sell it back to GameStop or somewhere elsebr> br>br>I would have given this three stars if I had paid the full price of $20 or so for it because I honestly don't need it more than once, but I got it used for less than $10.
