This is a HD cable for an Xbox 360 with no HDMI output. br>br>We used to have an Xbox 360, which died a few days after we got Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. My wife went to a local retailer (who may or may not be the devil) who sells refurbished Xbox 360s after a private funeral. br>br>She set it up while I was at work, and I got a text shortly after that saying she needed me to look at the setup because she thought the picture was blurry. br>br>When I examined the setup, I discovered that the Devil's cable was used. Err. A standard AV cable could be found at the local store. I tried to plug the HDMI cable I'd used for the old Xbox 360 into the Xbox, but it didn't work because the console didn't have an HDMI out. br>br>Grabbing my trusty Android-powered Smartphone, I tapped into the full power of the Internet to find this item on Amazon Prime for a reasonable price, took a deep breath, and deftly pressed the Buy with 1 click button. As I awaited payment confirmation, I could cut the tension with a knife.
- After two days - br>br>A yellow envelope contained the cable. It wasn't a regular envelope, either. It was one of those envelopes with bubble wrap on the inside, the kind that makes popping the bubbles difficult and unsatisfying. A clear plastic bag held the cable I had ordered inside this envelope. There were no guidelines provided. I didn't know what I was going to do next. The Xbox and the television could be connected in a total of seven (7) ways. The majority of them were round, but one stood out because it was large and shaped like a decapitated triangle. br>br>I began with the big connector. It looked a lot like the large connector on the AV cable I was replacing, though the cable was installed slightly off center in comparison to the original. I discovered that, like the original, it cannot be installed backwards. It's just not going to work. I pushed it hard, but not to the point of breaking it or the console. I've worked with asymmetrical connectors before, so I simply turned it around and plugged it in the opposite direction. It was the perfect fit. I also noticed a switch on the cable that allowed me to choose between HD and Standard Definition. I set it to HD because I was fairly certain I was buying this cable to enhance my family's gaming experience. After that, I went to the back of the TV. To match the color coding on the television, I used the color coding on the cables. There were no issues with the cable being rotated incorrectly on these connectors. There doesn't appear to be a top or a bottom to this. It appeared that the installation had been completed. I sat back in the gaming chair, almost finished organizing the wires behind the television, and just marveled at the craftsmanship. This was unquestionably a high-quality Xbox 360 setup. I turned on the television. br>br>I pressed the power button. It made a click, and then a message appeared saying No Signal a few seconds later. The Xbox 360's power button was pressed with trepidation. The room was filled with the sounds of low-cost cooling fans and even lower-cost optical disks and hard drives. It happened after that. The Xbox 360 logo appeared on the screen, which turned white. The picture was clear as a bell. I can't tell the difference between the old Xbox 360's HDMI output (RIP, you lovely console) and the new Xbox 360's HDMI output. You were taken from us far too quickly. You were capable of so much more. ) and this cable's Component output. Because the sound was always coming from the television's mediocre stereo speakers, the sound quality from the RCA connection vs. the previous HDMI output is also comparable. br>br>After killing imaginary soldiers with imaginary weapons, my wife and I lived happily ever after.
The cable appears to be well-made, but it will not work with the Xbox 360 E, which does not have the large AV out connection found on previous Xbox models. I had no idea there was a distinction, and the product listing makes no mention of it. br>br>Despite the fact that it doesn't work for me, I'm only docking one star for the cable's quality construction. The product description should be updated to state that it is incompatible with the Xbox 360 E. At the very least, it will reduce the number of returns, negative reviews, and negative feedback they receive.
It's fantastic! With everything else plugged in, being able to get HD graphics without using up an HDMI slot is extremely useful. Initially, there were some user issues, but these were quickly resolved. The following are the two most important (and straightforward) points: 1) Check that the red cables are in the correct spot if your child plugs them in. If they're mixed up, the screen will take on a green/olive hue. 2) If you need HDMI, make sure the switch on the plug is set to HDMI rather than standard; otherwise, you'll get standard definition and be aware of it. I would strongly suggest it.
I couldn't get it to work for me. I bought this because my TV didn't have enough HDMI ports but plenty of unused component inputs, and I connected it to an XBOX 360 slim and a Sony HDTV's HD component input. I tried multiple component inputs that work with other devices and got nothing but static no matter which position the switch was in. To no avail, I double-checked where the cables were plugged in, had my wife double-check my work, and even tried moving them around. I went back to Amazon.
The HDMI connection on my Xbox 360 stopped working. Using the other connection into the TV, this was a cheap way to get the Xbox 360 up and running again. This setup hasn't caused me any issues at all.
I purchased a component cable for my Xbox 360 (arcade model, I believe) in the hopes of improving the picture and sound quality, as I believed the one I had didn't work. So I ordered this, and the sound wire on the component cable either didn't work, or my TV or Xbox couldn't use it. This happened to me when I first got my cable. As soon as I realized this, I contacted them and shared my story with them. They explained how to use the cable at first, which was helpful, but I already knew. As a result, they issued me a full refund and allowed me to keep the item. Overall, this is a fantastic seller; just do your homework on the item(s) you desire.
We have an Xbox 360, and this will not connect to it! And now I'm finding out that I won't be able to return it. Let me add that we discovered it wouldn't fit two days after ordering it, and when I tried to cancel the order, I was told I couldn't, but it still took another six days to arrive, despite the fact that it was supposed to be a prime item. It took until the 19th of the month to receive an order that was placed on the 10th of the month.
