Is the Sony oem battery compatible with the PS3?

That's not the case. I compared the back of a genuine battery to the back of this battery and found that the markings are different. The packaging was also made to appear genuine, but it is obvious that it is not.

The charger is terrible, the battery is okay, and the combo cable is excellent

The charger had the appearance of an empty plastic box, with no weight to it. The first time the pins were used, they were pushed down. br>br>The battery works fine; I haven't used it much, but it only lasts about 2/3 of a charge before dying. br>br>The charging/usb combo cable that came with it is excellent, transferring files quickly and charging the battery. br>br>I'd go somewhere else.

Update: br>br>The customer service department contacted me and promptly sent me a replacement, which works perfectly! br>I would suggest buying from the seller because they stand behind their goods! br>br>On our PSP, the battery would not charge. The cord refused to charge as well. They had a good policy for returns.

The battery is completely discharged. It wouldn't work without the cord plugged in, and the cord would charge for a few minutes before shutting down unless you unplugged and replugged it. So I can't play my PS3 even though it's plugged in! Garbage. Purchase is not recommended.

The PS3 3000 will not accept a battery of the incorrect size. For the 1000 model, a battery was designed. I'm aware of this because I possess both.
