This was even smaller than expected, and there was no noticeable increase in This is a working keyboard
3/5

After playing with it for a while, it is The C64 is a couple of days old and I had seen both good and bad things about it. I will just Here are some of the good things

Observations 1. capability to add another game to the console (though I have never tried it yet). 1. . 2. Depending on your TV (such as my older Vizio), you may be able to power this device through the USB port (no need to buy a Lastly, 3. There is the option of plugging in an external keyboard (useful since the keyboard on this device does not work A functional term). Item 4. Added support for Commodore Basic (I have not tried to write any of the old games from 80's magazines so I'm not 100% certain how There are some things not to mention A good thing Observations 1. A joystick that is too stiff. Playing some of the winkier 80's games is even more difficult while this is the case.
2. Many of the games require too much time spent on the virtual keyboard. Lastly, 3. Some games cannot be adjusted for the speed at which they I see some of them are running a little bit faster than on the original computer In addition, the form factor needs to be considered. The idea of making it look like it is similar to the Commodore 64 is thought to help increase sales, since this is now tried and true. In all honesty, this is about the same size as a DVD case and the optical drive isn't that much larger Making it look more like a toy makes it look more like one An original version of the text. Lastly, the unit has two USB ports on the right side. One of these is for the joystick and the other you can use to plug an external keyboard into. I don't know if there was any old two-pin receptacles left, though. However, if you wanted to play those games, using the inbuilt keyboard could be cumbersome. Overall, I think you will get entertainment value from this device depending on whether you enjoy playing the old games it comes with, or obtaining other games from the Internet. Another important factor is that most of the old-school games require quick and exact responses and the joystick is particularly a problem here.

This is a really cool system! We can add games as well! Taking a look at this mini system, we can see that it looks sharp and works great
5/5

A thumbdrive can be used to easily add more games, and a new firmware update makes the process a breeze. The system comes with a good selection of games, but the best feature is that you can easily add additional games with a thumbdrive. You might consider getting a keyboard and a multi-USB hub so that you can plug in the controller, thumbdrive, and keyboard all at once.

The joystick is the only thing missing
4/5

A couple of years ago, I returned home from college to find my younger brother had bought a brand-new Commodore 64 equipped with a There was an end to the It will be followed by the next one. In particular, the games Elite, Spelunker, and Impossible Mission were a lot of fun. Neither one of the C64s nor the 1702 has been damaged, and It's rare for us to set them up, however. Some years ago, I built a retro game table using RaspberryPi/RetroPi (might be inside this computer! 1) It emulates the C64 very well (in addition to everything else), and it also has an arcade stick! the table wasn't very convenient, and it took up a lot of space that my wife would rather be filled with furniture that doesn't look like it came from the thrift store. It was only a coincidence that this project came up as I had just planned to build a second one to bridge an existing TV. It's not the greatest selection of games, but it's still lots of fun to try them out and discover new games I hadn't seen before, even if they do tend to be generic platformers or side-scrolling games. A few gems can be found here -Impossible Mission is still a fantastic game, a brilliantly designed piece of software. A good game of speedball can also be played. It's very likely that the side loading feature works just fine even though I haven't tried it yet- so bring it on Elite! It has an excellent interface and I like the raster display modes. I have no complaints about the game except the keyboard mode which is clumsy. The only issue I have is the joystick which is a pain to use. To make it more uncomfortable to use, I don't think it is possible. Even though you hold it three ways, it is hard to get a decent grip, and it is also not very precise. As a result, I pull my thumb onto the top of the stick so I can use both hands to hold it securely. It's showing signs of not being a very ergonomic position because I've had a new pain in my thumb! We used to play with the Wico Command/Control Joystick back in the day. Is it possible to create a modern version of that through the next project? My search for a used one on ebay may just have to continue.

I'd say you did pretty well
5/5

My unit arrived today, so I plugged it in right away. The system works without a hitch. So that I can program in basic, I connected a USB keyboard to the computer. Thus, since the Esc key is the 'Run/Stop' key, it is actually easier to program a modern keyboard. I will play those games too if I want to remind myself of something. The price is steep for what you get, but if you have a childhood memory, that's worth anything.

The problem is that if you do not realize its out-of-box shortcomings, you will find it great
4/5

Is pretty much as expected, but the choice of external games is extremely limited, unless you're willing to download or find the software update. If you want to make the most of it, look into purchasing the SNES usb pad and external keyboard.

I absolutely love it! Through the HDMI cable, you can view and hear the video and audio in crystal clear quality
5/5

My mind is filled with so many memories when I read this. Although I have several emulators on my PC, I'm not as impressed as I am with the ability to attach this unit to my large As I have purchased a powered USB hub as well as an additional USB joystick for two player games, I now have the ability to play Now that you have the new firmware, you can easily load hundreds of games from a USB stick onto Buying this item was the best purchase I have made in years and I highly recommend you do the same.

I feel like I'm back in the 1980s
5/5

The selection of games is good. The interface is extremely easy to use. There is an option to display the screens on a CRT to give you the feeling of running on a monitor. All in all, a good job! After installing the latest firmware, which makes it very easy to add your own software to a USB drive, I bumped the rating up to five stars.

It is good to relive your childhood and offer your children something that they appreciate
5/5

Got it Saturday morning, opened it up and started playing on the C64 mini in no time, great software interface, easy to operate and upgrade, as well as the ability to have your kids look at the old games and say, "This was state of the art for home entertainment in 1984!". The importance of remembering is never to be understated.
