The emulator is not completely compatible, so it may not function as expected. There are no paddles or wheels, just joysticks required for the game. It does require atari 2600 cartridges, but it does not work with paddles or wheels. The easiest way to play 2600 carts is to get a modded 2600 console that has composite outputs. (If your TV has composite inputs) I would recommend going that route instead.

you're looking for an Atari fix and just want to play some older joystick games on your PC, this unit should do the trick. In contrast to their Mega HD, which is awesome, it takes a long time to boot a game. No break out or Indianapolis 500 can be played since it won't work with paddles or racing wheels. I think the saving grace of this system is that the image looks great on the TV. I'd recommend to you to look for a modified Atari 2600 that has composite video output if you really want to play classic Atari games. All of them adapt to hdmi with a video converter, and they are fully compatible with the library. You can't get a lot for your money with this console.
My favorite feature is the ability to connect the device to the TV using the HDMI cable. In identifying game cartridges, the system displayed them crystal clear on different TV sizes (resolutions varied depending on the system). The system sometimes displayed a different cartridge name when identifying the SD card versus an ATARI cartridge. The same cartridge would sometimes play and other times not. As a result, the SD card was displayed when the cartridge wasn't recognized. It would seem that the original Atari 2600 controllers worked better with this system than the ones provided. I had more luck with the Hyperkin controller than one of the games included with this system. In contrast, Wico did not move the game characters on my Hyperkin despite functioning fine on my original 2600. Wico also did not do this with my original Atari 2600. While I am generally pleased with the system, I am a little disappointed as well.
It was kept after we looked at I like it so much better than I thought it would be and the old games work too!.
