Travel chess sets that can be easily stowed in a backpack, are lightweight and flexible but are not too small were the criteria I aimed to meet for my daughters. Planes were scheduled to fly from Blank, Texas to Seattle, Washington, where they planned to play. This magnetic chess set sounded interesting to me, so I bought it. There are no sharp edges, it folds in half to make storage compact, and it is lightweight. Plastic is the only material used in the set. Magnets at the bottom of the plastic pieces allow them to stick to the board and hold on very I turned the board upside down as you can see in the pictures. The magnets for this set hold pieces well in place, and it also fits right on the pull down tray of the airplane tray for United flights. I've seen magnetic boards that don't hold pieces well, so I'm happy with it in that regard. In my opinion, this was an excellent purchase for its price.

Please join us! The pawns and other stuff keeps moving as the children play with this small chess board. I have a non-magnatic chess board and it's frustrating to play with because pawns and other stuff keep moving. Having never used a magnetic keyboard before, I have no idea how other ones work but I enjoy this one. The suction is good and even if you flip it over, nothing falls off. They are all good quality, but they do come with some extra plastic on top which may be evidence of a mistake during manufacturing, but I can easily pill that out for you. There was one horse and two pawns that had it. The board is plastic and not bad for the money you pay. A plus is the size of the board is just 1 foot, making it easy to carry. There is much greater quality in the pieces rather than the board, and the magnets indicate that you can easily move your pieces on board without any extra effort. Overall, it is a good product for the price.

My 8 year old son plays chess on a cheap one in the past (paper board and cheap plastic pieces) and really likes it now. This set is the one we ordered for him since I wanted to buy him a better It was a bit discouraging to see that a pawn had a small hole (defective plastic), but my son didn't seem to mind it too The seller reached out to me first to make sure we are satisfied with the product. I explained the defective piece to him and sent him a photo. I received a brand new unit as a replacement. A wonderful customer service. However, the black queen piece I was waiting for lost the magnet on the bottom while I awaited the replacement. The problem has now been fixed since we plugged it back in. The great service makes me give five stars, instead of four. I would have given four stars with the little hole, but I am giving five stars for.

Having just learned to play chess around the time I ordered this, this set has been great for me to practice. It is a lot smaller than I thought, and the white pieces always stick together when I capture them, for some odd reason. Although this is nothing to be ashamed about, once I improve, I will be getting a bigger set and re-placing It would be a great gift for a person who wants to practice and obtain better results.

This is junk. There is a lot of flimsiness in the hinge. Breaking the box made it possible for it to get out. Each of the three hinges is made from very thin plastic with bendy points, and just fitted in a little slot in each half of the folding board. If they were making the hinge from plastic they should have done something different Instead of using wide round tabs, the engineers should have used round tabs that interlock with a small hole that runs through completely, along with long, skinny steel rods. It is by no means an acceptable design. There is no point in wasting time or money on it. A better solution must be found.

I was looking for something like this and it is very much in line with what I was looking for. In order to practice with a small chess set (that would be easy to store), I wanted one which would be quick and easy to transport. I like the size of these pieces - they are a good size We are not tiny, we are not massive. The design of this is space efficient, and it is attractive. The only thing I dislike is that there are some burrs in the plastic, and small pieces of plastic came off when I played it for the first time. It was not enough of an issue for me to deter myself from recommending this product, so I think it is perfect for other beginners!.
