Melissa & Doug Benson Black Lab - Stuffed Animal Puppy Dog

While it appears to have the potential to be a nice stuffed toy, there is clearly a lack of quality control in the manufacturing process. The one we got had strangely placed eyes and an ear that was encroaching on the forehead. Almost everything on the head appears to be crooked or out of place. We decided to keep it instead of returning it because it is so hilariously bad.

This appeared to be the ideal "Theo" for our Children's Church ministry based on the photos. We were excited to get it so we could start incorporating it into our weekly lessons. Shipping was very quick, and the price for this stuffed dog isn't bad. I must say, the photos give it a plush appearance. That's what I liked about it. This one has a very sleek and silky feel to it. But there's the matter of the eyes. I'm having a hard time getting past the eyes. When I read the reviews, I thought to myself, "Oh, everyone makes mistakes and misses things," but this appears to be a fairly common occurrence. The quality control department made a significant error. As a result, I'll be going back to find a new Theo.

Benson's eyes are a lovely amber color. The brown color is so natural-looking. as if they glisten! His teeny-tiny nose has a baby-like quality to it. A genuine Black Lab puppy's soft texture. Benson's tiny red tongue is soft and proportioned to a Black Lab puppy's mouth. Benson's ears are made of soft fur on the outside and super soft suede on the inside. Scratching a live Lab puppy's ear provides an experience similar to that of scratching the inner ear. My Benson's soft black tail is about a foot long. 4" from base to tip, which is possibly a tad short. It does not appear to be "small" when viewed from the perspective of a live Black Lab puppy. Perhaps Benson's shorter tail prevents him from being carried, thrown, or yanked in an inappropriate manner. The tail is soft and well-attached, and the feathers aren't fully developed, as they are in live Black Lab puppies' tails, giving the toy a more realistic appearance. M & D has done it yet again with a beautiful "sit/stay" that perfectly balances the pup's small cuddly body. The "weighted bottom" and the adorable over-the-knee booties Benson is kept alert and ready to play by puppy paws that are the right size (but still lifelike), but are still super soft and huggable. able. Don't let Benson's flawless "sit/stay" limit his ability to play! Benson is a natural "stand/stay," "down/stay," and "leave it" performer. He only sleeps on his sides and never curls up into a ball, much less makes three circles before lying down. However, these typical lab sleeping behaviors can take some time to master, or Benson could be one of the few dogs who prefers to sleep with his legs straight. Benson's sleeping on his side won't keep him from snuggling up to you at bedtime or during a nap. Benson is very low-maintenance and requires very little upkeep. He is in desperate need of love! br>br>There will be no kibble, no water, no long walks, no flea and tick medicine, and no vet visits. There are only a few safety precautions to be taken. Allow your live Black Lab puppy to interact with Benson for no more than a minute. Benson is a PEOPLE'S toy. I turned around to safely dispose of Benson's outstanding packaging materials to keep them out of reach of my live Black Lab puppy, only to discover Benson had vanished! I rescued him from my live Black Lab puppy, unharmed (the incident lasted less than 35 seconds), though he was missing one lovely amber-colored eye. His brown eye, as well as his sweet, laid-back demeanor the- rub the bridge of your nose Benson's tongue, left eye, both ears, and tail are all fine, so despite the "accident," he's a fantastic Black Lab puppy. I went to Amazon right away and placed two more M orders. For back-up, D Benson Black Lab puppies are available. Just in case my original Benson has another run-in with a live puppy, I've set up a back-up plan. I also like to give Benson the Black Lab as gifts, so having extras on hand is a good idea. D toy is suitable for people of all ages, but it's especially useful for Black Lab owners who live in areas where having a live dog is impossible. One final pro- There will be no hair loss! I've had my original Benson (the one who met my live puppy) for almost a year and there hasn't been any shedding, even during the summer's hot days. Benson's super silky fur can be combed gently without losing any of it. M is someone I strongly suggest. For everyone, it's D's Benson the Black Lab.

While the one we received appears to be in better condition than many others that have been reviewed, I must admit that the toy's quality control is severely lacking. It's not nearly as stuffed as the one pictured, and the nose is flat and off center, like a pug's. It could never sit like that, with the tongue sticking straight out like a raspberry. It is, however, very soft, and all of the dog's facial pastures, with the exception of the nose and snout shape, appear to be in place. I wish the legs were in a position where it could sit or stand, but it can't. It leans forward if you sit it.

I read the previous reviews that mentioned rips and misaligned eyes. It terrified me so much that I had Benson delivered to my house rather than Granddaughter's. Benson arrived on time and in good condition at my residence. I'm looking forward to giving it to my Grandchild. The lack of quality control received by other customers continues to worry me greatly. So, for the time being, I'm not completely comfortable with online shopping and sending. For the time being, I'll send to myself first to ensure that the quality is satisfactory.

If I had given this a five-star rating on the first day, I would have said that my one-year-old enjoyed it. The dog has ripped on the upper part/back of the dog in less than a week. She's one of them, and she just carries it around in her arms, hugging it. I was dissatisfied with the product because I had hoped for something of higher quality. I can see it and fix it, but that isn't what this is about. Okay, in a few years, but not this week. It was disappointing. It could have been ripped from the start and I didn't notice, or it could have been ripped from the start and I didn't notice in either case 2- Rip of 5 inches.

I've never written an Amazon review before, but I felt compelled to do so for this puppy (and his feline sibling). This little puppy was a hit with my granddaughter. It's a lot softer than it appears in the photo. Everything has such a clear definition. I was concerned that the blackness would make it difficult to see the eyes and nose. But this is not the case! The eyes are gleaming, and the nose is gleaming and adorable. And that adorable pink tongue, oh my goodness. He's a gentle giant. He has floppy ears that aren't too long. And he does, in fact, sit up like in the picture. He's a lot of fun to cuddle with. I was tempted to take it home and snuggle with it!.

This is a delightful stuffed animal - with a cute, engaging face and soft fur that's ideal for cuddling Our two grandson (7 and 2 1/2 years old) were immediately enamored with them.
