Despite that however, I found the assembly Throughout my career, I have assembled everything from cozy coupes to metal swing sets to kidkraft kitchens. During my observations of a 12 step assembly process, I haven't seen so many assembly problems. It turns out that some are defective. I had to break mine with a mallet, the couch, a screaming 3 and a half year old, and call little tikes on multiple occasion. As soon as I put it together, my kids went to town right away. Since I can't handle assembly issues or do returns, frankly, I would not recommend this slide to anyone who can't handle them. Not only me, but there may be others who have received defective slides, so getting one or not is like rolling the dice. Using Step 2 also makes a large slide that can be inserted right out of the box, and I wish I had spent the extra $20 and produced the larger slide Even though the kids still would have had a slide, I would have saved myself a headache and some serious pain.
